Great work by Siddal. For a town with no SL club our amateur clubs like Siddal, KXP, Greetland, Elland, Ovenden do an excellent job. Hopefully a few of these youngsters end up at the Shay-sadly the RFL and BJ Mather do not seem to want this to happen.

I was at College Grove, Wakefield on sunday for finals day. Yes, another RU club or former club to benefit from BARLA.
Two magnificent performances to lift their respective cups. My son played for the U/16's and is now a double Yorkshire cup winner, having previously being at KXP as an under 12 when they won it. I believe he's probably the only Halifax based junior with two Yorks cup winners medals at the moment, that makes us very proud indeed !!!
Plenty of rugby left to play but not so much time left to fit it all in, so much so that the scholarship games, ( he's a Bradford Bull ) have been put back a fortnight to accomodate club & school games. The RFL have used their noddles on this one and it means that they'll be playing into June this season.

I don't think the RFU benefit from College Grove probably the hockey club who are talking about putting another hockey pitch on the ground.

Would be good if Siddal Youth players ( or even all Youth players from Halifax area) could get in for nothing against Fev and also do a laps parade with trophy in hand etc. Fax recognizing the success of the local teams etc

Well done today to Siddal under 16's beating Brighouse Rangers, Siddal under 14's beating Greetland All-Rounders and Illingworth under 13's beating Siddal in their respective Halifax cup finals today. Another great day of local junior RL talent on show.
Shame about the under 16's referee Danny Tindall having to be substituted during the second half 'cos he was suffering from blisters on his feet, sorry pal, I couldn't resist

Not all but some I agree, thing is this is why the game needs to support the game at all levels and especially in its heartlands, where by far the majority of future players come from.
