I have just witnessed the disgraceful interview given by Peter Roe on Look North.

He should hang his head in shame at using this shocking incident as another reason to have a go at Halifax RLFC.

Nearly twenty years on and he still has a grudge for being sacked.

What happened after the game is much more important than what happened on the field.

I will be writing to the BBC to complain and I hope the club will too.

Why, what did he have to say?

Is look north available on I player, being regional ?

Peter Roe Claimed that all the Trouble was caused by Halifax fans who went towards the Featherstone fans after being evacuated onto the pitch.
It was a sad and dispicable swipe at the club ,and to make such a judgement when a man is fighting for his life in Hospital shows what a feeble excuse for a Human being Mr Roe is.

He wants to watch the Sky replay from our stand when we get evacuated. Right at the end a large group of Fev fans can be seen trying to charge on to the pitch. What were they thinking. The guy is a joke.

But that would blow a large hole in his argument and that would not suit his anti Fax crusade

Why complain to theBBC? It's Peter Roe who should be takeing all the brick bats for sutch derogatary remarks. Find him on some web site and give him the same back!!

The worst of it is that it is a blatant fabrication. The flatcappers had already been fighting amongst themselves or with the York fans in their stand a long time before our guys were evicted from the stand. The stewards and police had been called in to sort out a fracas of some kind after 15 mins of the game starting.
I was approached in MacDonalds after the game by one of the security guards who showed me his id and volunteered "for the record I believe the Fax fans were exemplary in their behaviour today."
There was only one set of fans responsible for any bother at the game.
And, just to be clear here. It was a very small minority of flatcapped clowns who were involved. The vast majority of their fans were there to have a great day as were our fans. No doubt we had one or two prats there too.
Mr Roe is a twit (check spelling as I don't think I'd get away with anything rhyming with cat). Why on earth he was dragged up as the voice of RL on the prog is beyond me. It is like getting Paul Macartney to do a commercial for British meat.

I saw this interview on look north this evening and used the link above to complain, I know the main thing is for Dave to make a quick and full recovery but to think that myself and other fax fans are responsible for creating threatening atmosphere which gave the thugs a reason to attack a fellow fan makes my blood boil too! this is a copy of my BBC complaint.
[i I have just watched the interview with Peter Roe reference his account that the trouble was started by Halifax Fans running at the featherstone fans when they were evacuated on to the pitch. If you had done any groundwork about using Mr Roe you would know that Mr Roe was a unpopular coach who was sacked by Halifax in his 1st season, and he is by no means a impartial observer, having been a popular Featherstone coach with strong ties with the featherstone area.
I was there at the game and this was not the case which if you were to look at the sky TV coverage you would have observed! When we were told to get on the pitch as quick as possible we could immediatly see numerous featherstone fans surging down the terracing to confront Halifax fans one of which managed to get past the stewards, and get on to the pitch, he got within a few feet of myself and my kids and I could see that he was about to launch himself into any fan he could get too, luckily another steward managed to grab him and get him back. Before, during and after the game a mindless Fev element which I'm sure will not be regular RL fans were causing trouble which eventually left one of our fans fighting for his life in hospital! If you had approached the Cheshire Police They would have informed you of trouble started at various pubs by drunken Featherstone fans. This report, I know from speaking to other people who were at the game, as left them angered at the thought that Halifax fans are portrayed as the culprits and responsible for creating a atmosphere which would give a 'excuse' for the violence committed[/i!
