We have all heard the rumours going round that half the team have already signed for other clubs. As usual I bet most of it is just pure cr*p;

According to the paper...

Quote: refreshed "Of the rest, a clutch of key performers are already on two year deals, leaving just five members of Sunday's 17 - Luke Branighan, Neil Cherryholme, Sam Barlow, Frank Watene and Stephen Bannister - unsecured for next season'"

Personally, my thoughts are...

With the exception of those players, moving on to play Super League (shad), or those on the fringes of the squad looking for a more regular game, I cant see any other club in this division being more attractiuve to play for. Obviously some of the big spenders may wave substantial amounts of cash in the direction of people like Branighan, but even then its no guarantee they will take the bait.

Siad is also an exception, but thats for family reasons.

The squad is bound to be "refreshed", and with MH on board, I can see us having another championship winning squad. I can also see players stepping down from SL chomping at the bit to play for us....

We have issues of the field, but maybe sunday has gone a long way to righting those wrongs.

Up the fax, heres to a another quality year ...

There's been nothing to stop any of the players who's deals are up from signing elsewhere since the anti tampering deadline passed a few months ago, except for the fact that they want to play for Fax.

No doubt the players/ their agents have been approached, and if they wanted to sign elsewhere they would have already done so.

I dont imagine we will be making a massive amount of signings, but hopefully we can add another couple of quality individuals to our already talented squad and be stronger next season

Branno was on a 2 year deal already, i have said this many times, Maybe we cannot afford him anymore and have opened him up to offers. all i know is he was originally signed on a 2 year deal.

To try and maintain what we have now would be excellent, introduce a few more for those that have left, Miles Greenwood back from injury for Shad, Mikali Aizue had started to play since his favour back in the team, Top player, however perhaps with his lack of transport and Gene gone he will find it increasingly difficult with training regeme etc. Holroyd could do another year, and as yet have the feeling he may still want to play on a pay per play basis. Hope black is still with us, i think he will be as sponsored by Roger and Sue harvey, if we keep the main personnel and build around them again then i think top 2 again no worries.

I think i am of the understanding that Adam Rudd is with us next year too.

I also thought it was 2 years, but was just relaying stuff from the courier; maybe it was actually a 1 year plus 1 year option ?

I would like him to stay put;

the link is from the Halifax website from october , last year when we signed him, i know he was told to look at other clubs due to the money situation, However i really hope now we have got some coming in, hopefully sponsors will follow, Martin Hall back at the healm so that should be a cracking result.

As far as im aware, Martin is not back at the club in an official capacity. His presence is at the invitation of Matt Calland according to the Courier last week.

I dont believe anything in that second nrate rag unfortunalty, Matt Hall as been at matts side for at least the last 4 or five games. Trust me, it has to be seen as what is reported, but by all accounts he never reallty left, someone had to take the flack for Ostick, he was not getting paid anyhow so threw himself on the sword for Matt knowing he would be back anyway. I think the man is awesome personally, Did well as coach, He moved up, Brought in calland and the players and not really lookede back i will say it one more time.

LONG LIVE MARTIN HALL !!! LONG LIVE HRLFC "icon_wink.gif!) CHAMPIONS

well done on sundays win that was a super last 20 mins football from your guys .if i were you i wouldnt be too worried about other championship clubs picking up your blokes by offering them better money or deals as there are very very few championship clubs who arent on their backsides financially, and there is still much that can happen before another ball is kicked in anger .I know that for example leigh and barrow who are two of the more stable clubs are chopping dramaticly their playing budget for next year and featherstone are looking to be more prudent than they have been lately so there are not going to be any large contracts passing about for any players in the championship anywhere . word on the street is that there may be as many as five of the current clubs not in the championship next season with two virtually as good as gone now .These are times that are much more difficult financialy for all the clubs than most people seem to realise , the game is totally skint at our level .

Just one year, no option. He wants to stay but the club have been reluctant to sort out a new deal due to financial restraints. Lets hope after Sunday they spoke to him straight away and that Danny Jones isnt a replacement for him, Dont get me wrong Jones is decent but Branno is top quality and top quality Stand Offs are hard to find at this level.

If your serious about SL maybe as your club says put this 100k to some practical long term use? Sort out any monies lost through various things let a few leave and start looking towards youth and marketing etc etc.
