absolutely disgraceful, that was nothing short of assault!

He should get a lengthy ban for that, the sport is hard enough without muppets like Haggerty.

What's even worse is the way it's handled. The ref clearly saw it yet it went on report. Also that incident won't be decided before the next game for Widnes (Halifax), meaning someone who clearly should have been sent off and banned is (potentially) going to take part in helping his team get 6 points against two top 4 opponents before anything is done about it. The whole report system is a joke.

One of the regular posters on the Widnes forum is even condoning this thugs behaviour and saying Barlow deserved it.

referee was 19 years old! absolute joke.... was with sam today, it was an elbow straight into the cheekbone. The referee lost count twice and allowed seven tackles in a set, disallowed a sheffield try which was fine and straight from kick off 2nd half widnes kicked ball a foot over the byeline, ref gives a drop out! ha i hope we never get that fool

Yes it was dirty and should get a few games ban.But i believe he spat at him earlier.Still do not condone what he did, but i also thought Yere did a cheap shot earlier.Sheffield tried the rough tactics but it did not work, as widnes have a bigger pack this year.Hey it is done now, lets move on and lock this thread as getting boring now.
