Reminds me of how HKR & Odsal used to be. It's funny on the Town forum that they are saying that the Ovenden game shouldnt be played because of this..... erm.. who actually played on the bloody thing on Tuesday which no doubt contributed to it's current state????

it isnt just the shay pitch that is a problem though.

the horrible winter we have had has taken its toll on pitches up and down the country, Wigan who have 2 sides in the highest leagues they can get in, there pitch is getting to a simalar level.

it probably wasnt the best to play a game onit on tuesday, it was getting to the stage where if there is any chance of it being played on the game will go ahead.

the last thing the rugby would want is it postpone games like tuesday and having to extend the football season to fit all the games in.

I would bet most pitches are the same with the winter being so bad. Any sport is going to cause damage to a pitch at the moment. We could get the Tar burner on the Shay pitch like they did for the London Crusaders game up at Thrum hall-Burnt all the grass off but the game got played! That would upset the soccer lot-lets do it then! (Only joking by the way)
