Seen as though we have reached the end of this eventful first decade of the 21st Century, I thought it would be a good idea to create a Halifax Team of the Decade from 2000 onwards.

Every week I'll be asking for nominations for each position starting with fullback, with a poll of those nominated to decide who gets nominated. Once a player is selected for a position he obviously can't be selected for another, Damian Gibson at full-back, wing or centre for example.

I'll start with my first nomination.

Daryl Cardiss.

The Wombat has to be in there.

I've just read this properly and seen how foolish I've been...

agree with cardiss.exceptional for us at beginning of decade.saw him play alongside craig dean in gb academy in nz 1996.thought he would be full international half back then as he was best player on pitch by a mile.never really fulfilled that potential and it was sad his career petered out like it did.

hmmm... Lee Finerty? Dane Dorahay??? Id go for Cardiss also, the players we currently have in that spot (Shad & Miles) are very good players, but Cardiss did it at SL level.

I would go for Cardiss but Scott Grix deserves a nomination.

If we're talking the last 10 years it has to be Cardys, for me.

i would go for cardiss, never forget that try he scored against leeds in the play offs, think it was the 98 season.

Cardiss was poor in the tackle and useless under the high ball, but was brave taking the ball up and was also very quick. I liked Finnerty but we didnt see enough of him so im going for the Classy Shadrack who can do everything well, tackle, high ball, comes into the line well, takes the ball up and most importantly.....scores tries

Bloody hell!!! I mentioned him tongue in cheek..... he was good at smacking people & that was about it imo
