Let's look at who will be likely going.

Tommy Saxton, Adam Robinson, miles greenwood ??. Marshall seems to prefer Johno at fullback. Gareth Potts.

I think we need another centre who can service a winger, too long have our wingers been scapegoats but they don't get good ball.

We also need to beef up our pack and get some rough, tough, mongrel in there. Tangata has been emended but cahalane hasn't kicked on this year from last years outstanding performances.

For me the forwards were very strong last season but this season we got outmuscled on occasions Batley at home been one and Fev at home another. We need another big forward and a second rower to replace Divorty. We are crying out for a quality centre because this season we dont have enough strike players who can break a tackle. For me need another pivot with pace. We need 4 quality players to challenge next season for top 4.

Before we announce signings I would like our BOD to tell us what we are targeting next year, their silence is ridiculous, or are they all away on their holidays?

If we are aiming to stay part time, which I am sure we are, are we aiming to be the best part time side or are we aiming for a certain league position? Once we know the aim we can assess the quality of the signings and then we can measure their success during the season. But frankly if the BoD can't explain what we are aiming for how the heck are is as fans supposed to know.

The squad this season was too big in any case. Too much chopping and changing trying to keep players happy. We need a smaller squad with a settled side with a few utility players who can cover different positions. Smeaton was a waste of a signing because what is point of having 3 specialist Centre's when only 2 can get in side.

Our problem in getting any top players in is that we are part time and top line players will be after FT contracts so at most we can only get the best of the rest.

Hi. Mr negative here.

We won't improve under the current Board of Directors.

All the sponsors appear to be small local businesses.

The Council are over the top regarding match day servicing.

Prices are too high to attract new fans.
There appears no effort to attract new fans.

I expect us to sign players on similar contracts that Dewsbury offer.

Oh, and Ridyard and McNally

I don't remember whether it was on here or in the programme but I'm pretty certain the money question has been answered,

For me we could have bought a Steve Redgrave rowing machine and 32 seater with a toilet at the end of this season, but we are where we are. Sometimes signings don't come off, we had some money, and now we have less.

We need to recruit quality, not quantity. We still have a nucleus that with 3-4 quality players added, could easily help us bring on some younger players. I would still expect we can afford to trim the squad and get them in, if they'll come.

So how does the club get bigger businesses to get involved? How do you get a random person with no interest in HXRLFC to drop a million quid in to the club with no hope of ever getting a return? We cant even find someone with an interest in HXRLFC who has a spare 1m to give away. On that note its probably underestimated how much the BOD have put in to the club with no hope of return, not that most of them either want one or expect one. When you compare us to the financial state of some other clubs the BOD have done a great job to even get us anywhere near the top 4 or would people rather us field WUP's every month or go all out for the top 4 and nearly kill the club like another chairman did?

As for signings to attract fans, we could sign Jonathan Thurston and it probably wouldnt even put 200 on the gate. People seem to forget what the crowds were like when we finished 3rd in SL, if we couldnt attract good crowds then it shows the problems the club faces trying to attract crowds now.

I agree with you that the BoD have done a fantastic job as without them the club would be extinct. They have baled out the club with loans when technically it is insolvent.

No big business will invest as there is little or no exposure for them. the fact that we don't own the stadium and only have gate receipts for revenue is a big problem for us.

The club business plan must be built on the shifting sands of the previous season. They have to plan ahead based on what they hope to achieve in the following season. I'll bet they were expecting top 4 again this year and will have planned next season around that. Not sustainable for long term development in my humble opinion.

Which would be better, one investor with pocket loads of cash, who dominates the club, ( Salford, Leigh)or several smaller investors that will allow the BoD to run the club, of course investors need to have an interest in R L, they would not put money into an enterprise they don t understand. Did Fax not employ a new Business Manager with lots of contacts? What happened to him?
As for the playing side I expressed my thoughts on another thread, smaller squad, quality players ( maybe could then afford some of them to be full time) and bring in the reserves, and forgive my impure thoughts, D /R to fill the gaps.
May be it is a good job I am 000's of miles away, I can feel the backlash already.
