Great evening the Board, Karl and Martin were all very open and honest the main message being that Halifax RLFC are to remain a stand alone club and will not be a feeder club to any SL club but this comes at a price, it costs money to run an U19 and U23 team so they need our help to raise the cash!
My message to the many of you on here that complain, where were you last night???
It was a Trust meeting but we did open it to all yet only about 20 turned out, if you want to find out what is going on then this is the best place to get to know, so get yourself to future meetings when we will have players and coaching staff as guest speakers over the year.
Oh and by the way Fev and Sheffield are also staying as stand alone clubs but Leigh will be a feeder club to Wigan! That means other clubs can have up to 5 SL players and also coaching staff from their 'parent' club! SL clubs will not be running U23s teams, that is a terrible move based on cost cutting, there will be nowhere for a 20 year old plus player who does not make the first team to play in future, how bad is that?

He got an injury in training 3 weeks ago after he had signed, what can you do about that???
Get to the meetings if you can in future then you can have a go at Karl in person!

Bracek hurt his knee v Rochdale on Aug 19th and hasn't played since, so got injured before we signed him actually!!

I went to the meeting last night, the first one I have been to, and I joined the trust as well

I would urge any fan that cares about the club to get down and join the trust if you can. There is a core of very passionate fans, and think that if more people made the effort to join the Trust, attend the meetings and assist, then the club will be in a much stronger position. One thing I did pick up on last night was that the Directors and Coach are prepared to listen to what fans have to say.

The ambition and passion that the board and coaching staff have for Halifax RLFC was clear to see last night. Karl, Ian and Martin spoke very well about the plans for the future, the new strip, signings, communication with fans etc.

It is sad when the RFL is letting a whole age range of young talent dissappear from the game. There is no set up for anyone between 19 and 23 at SL level as the clubs have voted to scrap the teams at that age range as a cost cutting measure, they would rather pay out thousands on over-rated over the hill Aussies rather than develop home grown talent.

What are the club's views on the SL link ups? Did they say?

The wheels are certainly falling for the Licencing Brigade. When it was introduced, we were told it was to raise standard of facilities, hello cas and wakefield! Then, when it became obvious that wasnt happening it was that licencing would prevent clubs overspending - hello Bulls, salford, cas, wakey, london when hughes goes. So it must be that licencing will reduce the number of overseas players, er... So then it must be that licencing will improve player development and participation - some SL clubs will soon have less junior development in place than championship clubs, and rely on championship clubs to develop their players.

What a gentlemans club it is.

I just wish from the outset that theyd been honest and said "We want cursaders, and possibly some other clubs from outside the heartlands to be in SL so we will introduce licencing, where we decide who plays where!"

Personally i didn't see any advertisement of this evening until late Monday, you might get more people if it is advertised earlier.

i knew about it but could not make the meeting. i think the problem is letting fans know, with the courier now weekly i think the club are taking a massive hit on the advertising side. not sure what can be done other than what they are doing via facebook etc.

Morrison has tweeted Bracek on 2 occassions in past 1.5months about lift sharing with Fielden, so if thats anything to go by...
But then I thought Fielden still lived here?

Virtually everyone has access to the internet these days and the first POC for Fax related news should be the Official Website and not the Courier one.

It was only announced on the Official Fax Site on Monday and I already had other arrangements for Wednesday evening as I'm sure other people had.

.... and regarding injuries, we all know what a physical game RL is and injuries are par for the course but, for years now, not just under Karl but also under Matt Calland, we seem to have half the team injured before the season even starts. Perhaps it's time to start taking a player's history into consideration before signing him.

Morro for example. We all know what a great player he is but how many games has he actually played in the last 2-3 years?

(I think?) I am a new member of the Supporters Trust which was paid for via shirt name a couple of weeks ago but have not received any further communication yet. Knew about last nights' meeting through this forum but unfortunately wasn't able to attend.

Presumably the club have forwarded the details of any new members to the Trust.

I'm affraid i was informed by Mike Reilly a while ago on here that due to The Halifac Courier being their Media Partner that all news would be on there first as was part of the deal, Whether this is still the same now with it being a weekly paper i dont know.
