| Well at the moment we still don't know.
However in and amongst the all the other recent goings on it has been broached.
Mr Steele when being interviewed on the radio yesterday was asked wether not getting into Super League would have any effect on who the next coach would be.
The response was he would not comment directly at this time nevertheless the club had a clear idea of were they wanted to go with this.
Maybe asked the question at the Ivy House tonight

| Was very interesting that at the end of Michael Steele's interview with Radio Leeds he was asked and answered along the lines of "We know which direction we are going to go in and are negotiating at the moment". Something as quick as that can only be Harrison. What about somebody like Greg Florimo, bit of press and positive PR for the club.

| Harrison would be a perfect choice, he wins games at this level, and we now have to tick the winning somethnig box again now or get to a grand final, he has worked wonders on a small budget at Batley.

| TBH id prefer someone with super league experience or an assistant coach, someone with RECENT experience of modern top level training techniques, tactics, nutrition, skills coaching, science of the sport, drills, training ground drills and so on. Look at McGuire at Wigan.
Assistant coaches know as much as the head coach training wise so can bring that extra expertise, look at Noble, his knowledge has tweaked things enough to have an effect.
I just dont see Harrison im sorry, just prefer someone who's been involved in the top flight division be it this country or down under recently who has experience and knowledge of all I have mentioned, im sure an assistant would find the role attractive enough or as a stepping stone.

You've got to be realistic. We ain't a super league club, and with jobs coming up at Castleford and potentially Leeds there ain't a cat in hells chance we'll get one that meets this bill - not sure we get one at this price. Harrison did a good job at Bradford and Salford and has done very well with Batley. Only man for the job in my opinion. Just wonder what his contract situation is at Batley - he may want to see the year out there.

| Not getting into a debate if he's a good coach or not but if I remember his stint at the Bulls and Salford werent that great were they, but anyway thats NOT why I dont feel he's right? I just don't feel he's what we should be looking at, like I said I'd prefer someone with recent experience of the top flight in some way, with experience in modern training techniques and skills, drills etc from a super league or aussie club. I just feel Halifax would benefit more from this then a coach who has been in this division for a while now.
BUT as we can't dangle the super league carrot that may be harder now though im sure winning trophies and finals would attract a decent calibre assistant coach from somewhere, even a player recently retired who's been learning behind the scenes so to speak at a super league or aussie club.
Leigh started doing well when Millward came in, same for Powell at Fev, both with recent top flight experience, it's no coincidence. Fax need the same type of appointment, I just think thats the area we should be looking in to recruit.
Oh and yes Rhinos done well to win a cup final on that budget hats off.

A young English coach who did a cracking job at the giants and probably put the structures in place for the relative success that the giants are having now, although the current coach has taken them to another level.
If Milward left i'd have him.
