it depends whether you interperet 'winning' the championship as being the team that finishes at the top of the league. which i feel should be the case.

You may well feel that. But it's not the case. It is the case that the team that wins the title is the team that wins the GF. The team that finishes top of the table gets a nice but meaningless pot. We've got one stuffed away somewhere, but it doesn't compare to the two NL1 championship trophies we've got



Giving the prize money to the team that finishes top of the table would be like giving the 100m Olympic gold to the runner in front at 90m, whether or not they cross the line first or fall over before reaching it.

i understand them wanting to big up the grand final but id have nightmares over such a large amount of money being lost over the bounce of a ball, or a bed refereeing performance

Normally any prize money is divided up among the players as bonus for winning the said competition

£ 5,000 a piece among the winning team or divided up on a % per match played basis

It used to be around 34 k , fits in nicely at 2 grand a piece

that itself would do us nicely smart ar*e, theyd deserve it and want to stay

Is the Championship SC still £400k? If so, £100k is 25% of total salary cap. Are you suggesting that clubs either spend just 75% of the SC in case they win, or blithely go over the cap by 25%?
