if you read the fans comments on their message board & also txts in the Courier, they dont seem to have played well since the turn of the year.

They are close to not even being in a play off spot now. Sounds like the board finally lost patience.

Calling the match officials "Idiots" the other day won't have helped.

Probably because he has managed to steer what should have been the top team in their division into a situation where they are unlikely to make the playoffs. With the other teams directly below Town all having a number of games in hand and them already slipping out of the play off spots it doesn't look good for first season promotion. He's been lucky to stay so long IMO. The way he criticises the players (and fans) on a regular basis has probably lost him the dressing room.

That was hilarious reading. And the writing was on the wall soon as he said it to a journalist.
They were about 8 points clear at the top in late novenmber and now aren't in play-off spot.
But have to agree, sackinghim with only 4 games left was a little strange.

Don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for Town but the club has, is and always will be a farce.

Quite how the fans (what's left of them) managed to raise their expectations from not having a club at all in July to winning the league nine months later is part of the problem

Crowd of under 600 at the weekend says it all. Town are at their level in the football pyramid.

To be honest I do not care about them either but I also had expectations that they would do well, for a couple of reasons. They have the bigest by far crowd in the league (most of them have only 200 or so)paying I believe around a 30% dearer entrance price.If they can`t buy quality with that there must be something up.It isn`t even as if they have historical debts is it?
When I read the bad news for them I was immediatly trying to think if it was something we had done but I`ve racked my brains and I can`t see we can get blamed for this . Or can we

All the other clubs will be rubbing their hands, hoping that Town stay down next year and they'll get another seasons bumper takings.

Sad Losers.

It's not very long since ( within the last couple of seasons ) a Town fan showered a ref with a pint of beer after a game at the Shay when the ref was leaving the Weavers to go to his car. A lad who I work with told me at the time that his mates dobbed him in to the police and he got a ban from the ground.

Can't the Town fans drink then or what ?
