Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Request
Can you please confirm:
1) Whether the Council has offered any form of compensation to Halifax RLFC for the cancelled match in June 2015? And if so, how much?
2) Whether any financial penalties were imposed on Halifax RLFC due to their rent arrears? (interest, fine, etc)
3) That all arrears were paid in the week commencing 7th March? (By the time a response is made with regards this request the arrears should have been paid)
4) The exact reason why HRLFC and FCHT pay different amounts of rent per month?
5) Ways in which the Council is looking at ensuring neither tenant can run up such large arrears?
Response
1. No.
2. No.
3. Not in the week commencing 7th March but, as at this date, no arrears.
4. Due to different provision with regard to shop premises at the stadium.
5. Such practice will not be permitted under the terms of the User Agreements. Should either Club be in arrears then immediate action will be taken to establish the reason why. If no extenuating circumstances are put forward then the Club will be reminded of the termination provisions in the User Agreements and, if appropriate, the right to use the Stadium will be withdrawn.

Backfired? How? It was a a follow up to a previous FOI request which showed Fax were once again in rental areas. Its had the desired effect of bringing the issue to the fore and getting Fax up to date with its rent commitments.
Hopefully its the last time either tenant falls behind. |

Yep. That's right. The council and the rugby club have a small minded obsessed group of football followers to thank for resolving their issues.

| Best of luck to FCHT at Wembley. I'll be watching the game on TV and hoping they win, but some saddo's that follow them (with a few HRLFC followers rising to the bait) continuing to whine about us sharing playing rights at the Shay. Neither club own the ground, both are up-to-date with their rent now, and we should be able to put things behind us and wish each other well.
That's my (genuine) wish, but it is only three hours from 1st of the month  |

That is one bloody expensive shop for the size of it and it is hardly a prime retail site is it???
Plus the club and especially Ian Croad kitted it out including putting in the security shutters after it got hit by thieves the other year, the cheeky sods at CMBC charging more for just that really??? |

So lets turn this one around, what if this was FCHT and it was HRLFC fans doing FOIs to find out every month if FCHT were up to date with their rent, what would FCHT fans think of that Gavin???
You know what they would say FCUK off wouldn't they?
Also what if it was FCHT paying more rent than HRLFC, you know the answer to that one as well they would be marching on the Town Hall!
This vendetta is purely about some (quite a few) Town fans HATRED of HRLFC and is pathetic, as a Town fan as well as a Fax fan I can recall over the fifty plus years that I have supported both teams numerous times when Halifax Town (as was) were in the sh*t and had financial trouble yet this all seems to have been forgotten, even the fact that HTFC went bust owing a small fortune!
Thankfully Town are not in any financial trouble and things are all hunky dory, but if they had carried on like the start of the season and been bottom of the league who knows what would have happened? The point is sports clubs fortunes go up and down and Town could one day be in trouble and it would be interesting to see if some of these so called fans would still be around and also what FCHT fans would think if Fax fans started offering their opinion on the state of FCHT say one day they could not pay their rent?
Hopefully this won't happen but some Town fans have short memories, personally I am sick of this cr7p and whilst I do not agree with fax not paying their rent I do agree paying more for nearly half the number of games is wrong and again how would Town fans feel if it was the other way around?? |

They don't represent FC Town fans as a whole but claim to and think they do.
They don't represent the Halifax community as a whole but claim to and think they do.
They do represent only themselves, a small obsessed number who share their hatred based views against Fax feeding off one another just like any other extremist faction.
Over time apart from Fax they have lyingly attacked individuals and their family members, other life long fellow FC Town fans who support both Town and Fax and charities etc, etc.
It's all on record on the public forums without the need for an FOI.
Thankfully talking and typing is all they have done so far and anyone who isn't as biased as they are on reading it and hearing it see's it for what it is. |
