Cmon Rich be honest ,you wouldn't say no to an investor like Derek B, the guy has put his money where his mouth is and we have assembled a very impressive squad,with maybe another addition to come.I think it is a do or die situation for next season,I know like myself most Leythers can't wait ,and hopefully all clubs will benefit when they play Leigh at home with increased gates.
We had a very impressive Pack , we are now assembling an impressive back line,believe me Derek knows what he is doing,the only rocks in his head are Diamonds. I look forward to our game at the Shay, I'm amused by the absence of Mr Jagger ,I would like to increase our bet.

But why spend all that money in the Championship? It's such a waste. The time to splash the cash is when you're in SL, not in the lower tiers! He's puddled. At this rate he'll get to SL with an empty cash reserve.

I agree with most of what you say Rich, but there is more to this than just S/L.

Its about building a competitive squad that could potentially hold their own straight away with increased revenue and sponsorship to boot.

Just 500-750 more paying spectators per home game pays for Chase and Tonga. Its a risk, but it seems a calculated one !

Eggs in one basket ? Maybe, but if we fail to get promoted this season, i feel we will be looking for a new coach.

Halifax have consolidated really well and had a fantastic season last year. It will be competitive that for sure and underestimate you at our peril !

As for Degsy ? he is here for the long term and it is a lifetime ambition to see the club he loves and supports do well. All these fantastic signings lift the lid on the Championship profile and will close the gap even more on the bottom 4 of SL thats for sure !

Last season Leigh attracted about 2000 fans to each game more than Fax averaging more than double Fax over the season, imo a club is the sum total of its fans so whatever is happening at Leigh Fax need to learn on how to grow its fan base for the future of the club

Winning next years championship will be a good start in that direction...
