Six players have been charged from the Championship fixture, Leigh Centurions v Halifax played at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday May 10:

Tom Armstrong (Leigh) – Grade B head butting in the 67th minute;
Kurt Haggerty (Leigh) – Grade C striking in the 72nd minute;
Jamie Acton (Leigh) – Grade B punching in the 72nd minute;
Andy Bracek (Halifax) – Grade B punching in the 72nd minute;
Steve Tyrer (Halifax) – Grade C striking in the 72nd minute;
Dane Manning (Halifax) – Grade B punching in the 72nd minute.

Acton, Bracek and Tyrer have until 11.00am on Tuesday May 19 to submit Early Guilty Pleas. Armstrong, Haggerty and Manning do not have the option of submitting EGPs and will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening.

So we can expect to be without Dane for a week or 3 given his exemplary discipline record.

I'm presuming that our other 2 will go with EGP's?

I'm surprised head butting is deemed the same as punching.

Not the same impact for 30 man full time Leigh squad. Just about goosed Fax with a 23 man tops, part time squad. Mid table respectability I fear for this season now and start building for some comings and goings for next season when RM can put his own marker down with his own signed players. In the meantime will continue to support the lads whatever.

Looks like Haggerty getting banned for starting it, and Bracek, Manning and Acton for giving the brawl a second wind.

I think you should be allowed to play all three against Bradford

This all comes down to poor match officials AGAIN! If you had Refs that could actually see what was going on and cut the rough stuff out from Leigh, then players would not be retaliating. As per normal the RFL have made a mess of things due to incompetence-this time its the match officials. Leigh have the worst record by far in the game and yet are seemingly allowed to do this week in week out. And it seems Headbutting somebody comes under punching.

I agree LTD at Leigh we do have a big squad although Tom Armstrong who is one of my Fave players will be missed we have 2 very capable centres in Platt and Worthington and our Pack can accommodate the exclusion of Haggerty and Acton without to much disruption although I hate seeing anyone suspended ,though we can't have brawls breaking out at every match.

I can't comment on Armstrong alleged head Butt as I didn't see it ,but a neighbour of mine DID and he said Tom didn't connect , he said Tom sort of lunged toward Saltonstall but that was it , though I'm not condoning what Tom did as the intent was there ,I know Leigh are not Angels with Dirty faces , but neither are Fax,for me we should now move on concentrate on future games.

I should'nt think that Tom Armstrong will get much of a punishment for his head but, not when the day before the match he was awarded

In light of that it seems odd to me that he wasn't eligible for an early guilty plea!

In my opinions you should never plead guilty.

We didn't do it, I didn't see it, the sun was in my eyes, nothing happened our poor man was just stretching his neck and was just going to kiss him on the cheek.

Adrian Morley recieved no action for his '2 head butts' v Huddersfield last week. He is not allowed to submit 'an early guilty plea' for 12 months, that was all he recieved. Not seen Armstrongs 'head butt'...but i have NEVER seen him behave like that before. He usually just 'gets on with the game'.
