Please note that the venue for tomorrows College Cup Final has changed from Featherstone Rovers to Stanningley RLFC, LS13 1PA. Kick off is still 5pm.
Thisc is a really important Cup Final, and Calderdale College coached by current Fax assistant Coach, Lee Greenwood, is taking on Hopwood College coached by former fax Coach Matt Calland !
Both sides are undefeated in this current season and are both Champions of their respective Leagues. As several of the Calderdale College lads are also playing members of the Fax Under 20s team it would be nice to see some of our supporters there

Would it not have been better to pm Mike rather than ask a question off topic, or indeed add the question to the thread that is already running!
Why should Mike respond and start a debate which has nothing to do with "The College Cup Final"
Would love to go but unfortunately Wednesday is one of the days Mrshalifaxjohn and I look after grandson halifaxliamjack.

Good luck to all of the lads & Greeny. We're very relieved at son No.2 being available for the final after a nervous week waiting & i hope to be able to make it to the game, circumstances depending, to see him lift the cup for his college later on this evening.

It's on the Fax RLFC homepage, along with 180 odd pics that Mr. Riley took ! Nice to see such a strong contingent from the Halifax boardroom & coach in attendance at the game looking at Mike's 'photo's. Hopefully for my sake there'll be a dvd knocking around soon, i've been on my lad's side since he was 5 year old, coaching, encouraging, taxi-ing etc etc, & unfortunately I was forced to miss this one when he gets to lift the cup....
I understand the lads partied very hard & very late too, great upbringing if i say so myself  It's all about setting standards, goals & achievements haha. |

More great news to report. Today the Calderdale college lads won through to the champion of champions final to played against Hopwood hall college at Cas's stadium next wednesday. Basically this was a Yorkshire top 4 vs Lancashire top 4 knockout comp & today the beat Wigan students college 39-38.
If/when they win this comp next week they will have gone all season unbeaten, winning their league, the Yorkshire cup & the national cup on the way. One last push lads for an unbelievable achievement !!!
Great work done by Lee Greenwood & his coaching team it has to be said, I appreciate the time & effort he's spent on further developing son No.2 and playing a part in him getting his appettite for the game back in a big way.
Last wednesday, 10 Calderdale lads made it into a 20-man Yorkshire squad that played at Nottingham Uni in a national counties tournament, eventually losing in the final to Lancashire. This was used to select the England students 25-man squad to play/tour Belgium in july and here's the official announcement released earlier today
( follow the link ) Congratulations to the FIVE Calderdale lads who made it into the squad, good luck & fingers crossed that you all make it into the final cut to 20-man.
