Quick update. Have not decided my future club just yet. For a few options and need to sort my current contract. Fully concentrating on the playoffs with Fev and World Cup with Scotland then ill make a decision. Cheers hope it stops all the rumours.

He can do what he wants but my respect for him has gone. The way he acts on Facebook trying to wind Fax fans up especially with the rivalry and in some cases hatred between the two sets is just not on. Very good player but has a very poor attitude and needs to grow up a bit. Whatever the circumstances are for leaving Fax, thats not the fault of us fans. Most respect him for what he has done for the club. But his comments are just not on. Frankly I dont want him at the club ever again because of how he acts

The people who can decided Sam's future have yet to make a statement, and thats Halifax RLFC. He is after all still contracted for next season, so until his contract situation is cleared up, ultimately he's with us.

Many people have heard things, but upto now nothing has been made public, whatever has happened will come out in time.

Paul Rowley has just announced that Barlow has signed for Leigh for next season.

He said that after yesterdays game, Sam has then denied thats the case

What if I told you I was there when he signed his contract with Leigh. Would you believe it ?

I think some people are forgetting Sam was contracted to Halifax for next season prior to this Leigh thing. I hope our club ( and i trust that they will have done, knowing some of the people who run our club ) have taken the necessary next steps in all of this, if indeed it's correct what we're now reading & not just hearing from word of mouth.


I really though Sam had some SL in him, maybe the link up that Leigh have with Wigan might prove fruitful for him if all of this has any substance. That should really have been the progression in his his RL career.

We'll all have to wait & see how things turn out.

Andy Mazey is on the board of directors at Leigh and i was chatting on twitter which is open to all who want to see, Hehas confirmed they have his signiture locked away and more importantly, So do the RFL at redhall, Deal is Done.

Barlow just playing games trying to boost his own Ego with fans saying play for us sam. you know, the playground crap that used to go on when picking your team.

I asked the question when Sam came to Fev and was told that we got him on loan because fax had made him available to us and we were short on forwards but he wasn't on the list of players for next season that the coach wanted as he wasn't available at that time So unless something changes I don't see him at Fev next year not on his salary you have just confirmed he not coming back to Fax so looks like it will be Leigh Sam has said he has a few options for next year so we will see
But I cannot see them paying him what he's on now
Have fax released him as of 1 December or is there compensation for his release

Maybe his Leigh contract has a super league get out clause.

The strange thing about the timing of the announcement is that they've done it without being able to get Barlow to say how much he is looking forward to joining them etc. It's been widely touted he would end up at Leigh for a while, so why Rowley/Leigh chose to announce it yesterday and today I'm not sure. It's understandable that Barlow had decided to (or been advised to) say nothing had been decided until after Fev's last game, but why Leigh /Rowley couldn't wait until they could get Barlow on board with their announcement is puzzling. Not the best PR to announce your marquee signing when he's still telling the world he hasn't decided what he wants to do.
