Miles- decent comeback year lost that yard but hopefully might improve next year if kept
Fieldhouse- potential ? was very poor today probably keep
Worrincy- poor today we know what we get devastating on his day fairly decent season tho
White- good year up there for player of year great improvement on last
Goddard- awful today couldn't catch, injury prone and never lived up to 'best centre out of sl' consistently while he's been here, mediocre can go for me
Haley- average champ player would give him his testimonial then can leave
Nash- awful year, gone back great on his day but hasn't had a great day all year, can go
Pats- not quite his year but should be big player next year once over injury
Jones- knew what we were getting when we signed him not a patch on branno not massively improved since we last had him thanks for the dg at fev, can go
Black- one year too far this year thanks for the memories
Gannon- decent year but would let him go too old
Aizue- best fwd by a long long way, great year
Chez- ok if got yard makers around him not a pack leader needs to improve
Watene- sentiment kept him here for last years efforts, past it
Barlow- thick, hotheaded, brainless, inconsistent. was awful today but there's something there would keep him
Chandler- decent first year got something would give another year
Penky- best player this year, best player in league has his bad moments but we'd be relegation material without, keep at all costs
Beswick- hmm inconsistent year had his brilliant games had some poor ones wouldn't push the boat out to keep but would if could fit in budget
Clayton- see ya later Ryan
Smith- weird signing we've had his best years why bring him back
Bannister- not greatest end to season but done enough to be kept
Fairbank- best backrower, workhorse, would love to keep next year
Bowman- not quite creative enough for a stand off if he bulks up and works hard could be a loose, keep to see if he can fulfill his potential

Might have missed a few, we were a disgrace today, haven't rectified our defence in 2-3 years, our attacking moves have been poor this year without penky we would have struggled to score at all. Hopefully Karl can bring some enthusiasm, defence and new players. Very disapponting season with the odd high point, end of the line for some of our team thanks for their efforts but we really need to move on.

How can you say that we've had a disappointing season when we got to the final of the Northern Rail Cup and the playoffs as well??

I class this season as disappointing. Inconsistent all year, champions to just scraping into the playoffs and if Barrow hadn't been naughty would we have made it?? Too much pride missing this year for my liking. The NRC final merely served to cover up what a poor year we've had.

I said the odd high, but we lost a final which we should have won and if you think it was an 'achievement' finishing 6th above barrow who had points deducted, dews, toulose, hunslet and York you need your head testing mate. The performances at York, widnes, Sheffield today and earlier in season were disgusting. We have been massively inconsistent and average in the main.

Are you being serious? This season has been a total anti-climax from start to finish, with the squad we have, every aspect has been an underachievement .

Getting to the NRC final looks good on paper. But was it really an ‘achievement’ I don’t think so. We scraped the group stage against very poor opposition and then came very close to getting beat by Toulouse who were woeful. Granted Fev away was an amazing performance, but all in all I see our NRC run as anything but an achievement.

Again, I’m unsure why you think finishing 6th in an 11 team league is an achievement. On paper we had the best team in the league yet we have been totally outclassed by Fev and Leigh, who have performed consistently well all year.

Off the field our SL bid failed.

Aside from the development of the 23s, 2011 for Halifax RLFC has been a very bad year.

Fortunately the existing coaching staff have been replaced. I only hope the board follow suit.

I have to agree with Rochdale - Fax Fan and FFA.
We looked light weight in the forwards at the start of the year and I think it as been a major part of our poor season.
Just pleased we have great coach in place for next year who will see we have a strong, aggresive pack and will not accept some of the performances we have put in this time.

I class this season as disappointing because we didn't win the GF. That's the measure of where we have come since 2003. We are and will be next year - a top side. We will still be one of the best long after Featherstone's resurgence has burnt out.

We are Fax!

Matt I certainly think this is a little OTT as far as statements go. This season is totally down to the coaching regime that had delivered success for the club previously. This season when the biggest budget wasn't available it came unstuck with some poor signings. Having worked closely with the board this year I can honestly say they are a hard working and dedicated bunch who basically run the club as volunteers putting their own hard earned into the club. Without these people we would be nowhere and if you think a better bunch of guys exist to run the club you are sadly mistaken.

These guys are passionate and want the club back where it belongs and for you to say you hope they walk is insane. They do get things wrong from time to time but ultimately deserve both the recognition and support from each and every Fax fan that they absolutely deserve. I'd like to see you or anybody do any better. I think your statement mate here is wholly unfair and lacks insight.

The season has been a big disappointment on and off the field. After last year we just never kicked on and some signings were strange and we have been so inconsistant. I get the feeling Karl will make many changes especially in the forwards. It cant have been easy on the players with Matt going, but that doesnt excuse some of the performances that have been put out. The Rail Cup Final was the only real highlight of the season to be honest the rest I would say has been poor. Personally I would only keep Aizue from the props. Blackie is a match winner and feel we should keep him on pay as you play basis unless there is a better Aussie out there. I think we will see around 10 players come in as signings or DR´s.

The board have done a great job from bringing us back from the brink of oblivion a few years ago to where we are now challenging for trophies. They have made mistakes and I am sure they would be the first to admit that. The Board deserve our backing and support not being unfairly blasted. Fax are one of the best run clubs in the game and we are not losing money unlike many. The future is bright for me and alot of that is down to the board who have made many personal sacrifices

Miles-KEEP-Deserves another year and probably injuries have not helped
Fieldhouse-KEEP-Good Squad player to have as back up
Worrincy-KEEP-We needed to keep Rob and great he is on a 2 year deal
White-KEEP-Big year and glad he is with us for atleast another year
Goddard-RELEASE- I just have never rated him. He never has fulfilled his potential and often injured. Wouldnt be surprised to see him elsewhere next year
Haley-KEEP-average player but injuries have not helped. Keep for a year and see how he does
Nash-RELEASE-is a liability. On his day can be good but cant see him staying around
Pats-KEEP-Sadly injury has haunted him this year but glad he is staying as he is a very good player.
Jones-RELEASE-Cant say he has impressed much. Sadly not good enough for a top Championship team which is what we should be aiming for.
Black-KEEP-I would keep on a pay as you play basis. Injury hasnt helped him this year
Gannon-RELEASE-Has done OK but the game is so fast and am not sure he can keep up next year.
Aizue-KEEP-Quality player and hope he stays. Leads by example
Chez-RELEASE-Again never really impressed and he is a bog standard forward. Doesnt really break the line or have the explosion of Aizue. Not too bothered if he left.
Watene-RELEASE-Sorry Frank but please retire now. Great bloke but sadly pass it.
Barlow-KEEP- Harrison needs to make him more disciplined and focussed on Rugby and not pretending he is the hardest man on the pitch!!
Chandler-KEEP- has shown potential and for me just lacks experience. Usually gives his best
Penky-KEEP-Best player in the League on his day and has always given 100% to Fax.
Beswick-KEEP-Bit inconsistant but valuable to have around and can be a game winner
Clayton-RELEASE- Never rated him and never understood why we signed him
Smith-RELEASE-Too old and maybe should go coaching
Bannister-KEEP-Decent enough player
Fairbank-KEEP-Cant see it but if we could sign him would be awesome. Top player in defence and attack
Bowman-KEEP-Still unsure but I dont see him as a Halfback but rather a lock/loose forward but think he needs a couple of years yet

Cut out rest of quote but I have to say I pretty much agree, Saying Beswick is inconsistent is a bit tough on him though, Penky is in the same boat, they are both great players that we need to keep.
Please release Goddard, I have VERY rarely seen what he is supposed to show, never releases his winger, we would have won NRC if he'd put out the early ball.
Cherrypops, sorry but it;' time to bring the curtain down, there must be better props around Halifax at local level who would make more ground.
One to forget I think but that's because our expectations have risen so much in the last few years and that is mainly down to the hard work of the board.
Thanks guys.

Well the positive today and the only one, is that it makes the decisions of who to keep so much clearer. The papered cracks well and truely fell apart.

Miles.....keep
Feildhouse.... Keep as cover (cant have a worse game than today..can he?)
White ....Keep (unless Alex Brown is available giving you a different style)
Worricy ...keep
Patts....keep
Goddard....sorry ,pace gone ,reaction time too slow, probably too high a wage bill as senior player to merit keeping.
Haley......sorry, again pace gone steady player.
Nash ......has all the skills but clearly not the temperament. Spent all season totally out of condition. A big NO
Jones....confidence drained. Tried hard but even the basics went today. Sorry.
Black....body language today said he was off. Needs a new challenge and get himself back in shape...sorry all the best.
Aizue.... yes keep 1 year
Penky ....keep
Cherry....keep....still young keeps improving . Eat some steak and work like mad on the leg drive power off season.
Smith.....sorry but a season way too far.
Clayton .....improved over the last few games but sorry time to go. Better less expensive bigger players out there.
Bannister....depends what else is on offer runs good lines but size counts and he is relatively lightweight. open verdict
S Barlow .....Keep....yes he let them get to him today.
J Barlow .....havent seen enough to decide.
Gannon.....yes time to go.....but you cant fault his effort this year
beswick ....keep
chandler...keep . thought he should have had more game time in front of clayton and smith.
Watene....father time caught up ,but should have been on today with a lightweight pack . Time to go
Bowman... let him have a year at Keighley
Fairbank .....if we can have him yes. If not well played this year

it really does emphasis the poor recruitment last year which took us backwards not forwards.

What would I like in?

A robust pack and players who give far more than some did today.

Which leaves KH with quite a bit of team building to do, but a fair chunk off the wage bill with senior players leaving to bring in some new faces.
Good luck for 2012!

PS . I will buy the season ticket to help the recruitment fund!

From what BBC radio Leeds were saying Goddard has already put pen to paper with fax, we will await the announcements to start coming, however I expect slow releases to encourage people to get the new app on their phones for the news.
