Did anyone see the state of the attendaces for last weeks Championship games, I was looking in the league express and the highest gate was Fev at a pathetic 1380 or something. Others were well below this, Now i know there was no home game for widnes, fax or leigh but are they the only teams in championship pulling gates of over 2000 regularly.

In all honesty i had no idea the rest of the league was so dire with attendances.

Basically all f*cked by the RFL's insistence on expansion and no P&R.
I really only give the whole thing 10 years and it'll be last one's turn out the lights.

Is it really due to lack of P&R?

Do supporters of those clubs getting low attendances really expect them to be promoted? Lack of promoting a competition which is cheapened by introducing mickey mouse plastic clubs is probably more of a factor, in conjunction with competition from other, and cheaper, sports.

The whole of the sport outside of super league need to get together and plot a future together, we're all in this mess together and the RFL aren't interested in helping

Not directly, but I feel it's just one of the knock on effects of it and because the game is losings it's 'buzz' and competitive edge, while coming out with some right rubbish from the RFL in between. I know loads of people who supported York Knights or who would go casually that look at Rugby League now and just don't bother. These people don't realistically expect to ever see York in SL just as they didn't 5 years ago, but it's withering at all levels now because of decisions at the top.

The attendances aren't going to improve because of the standard of rugby we play and the standard of opposition we play due to the salary cap farce , Imagine the crowds that come out of the pub and turn up to watch Leigh / Fax when Wigan , Wire , Saints , Leeds et al are in town .

We'll both show the RFL that Championship teams do have a following to see a good game .

The average attendances for 2009, 2010 & 2011 in the Championship after 15 rounds

2011 - 1640 (Total: 119,722 after 73 games)
2010 - 1697 (Total: 127,256 after 75 games)
2009 - 1796 (Total: 134,690 after 75 games)
