It appears as is stated in the Title that due to the Attendance average needing to be above 2500 the RFL would not accept a application for a super league licence even though every other box is ticked.

TOTAL JOKE !!!
Something needs to happen here cause for months we have seen this happening, rules changing, sneaking little clauses in for widnes and toulouse, Who do they think they are taking a game away from the masses.

We knew it was coming, who can honestly say they were suprised. And besides i don't want Fax in Super Duper League, the club is not ready at all.

Here Here to that, I also dont think we are anywhere near ready, but the practice of making the application keeps the RFL aware that we are serious about being back there when the time is right.

| we all knew that we needed to get an average 2,500 for the season, we all knew we were going to get a kick down to the floor from the RFL at some point, so i am not really suprised with what they do from now on.
one good thing could be if they promote Toulouse and Widnes then we should be in pole poistion for 1 next tiem, unless south wales scorpians get fast tracked in, we should be in a good postion to get one next time.
let sooper dooper league have who they want. most of the games on sky from the championship are more exiting than super league anywy.
we go to matches these days and most matches we have a realistic chance of winning, we are winning more than we are not, if we got put in super league it may be back to losing every week again.

| Personally, i am concerned about the finance of the club, All it will take is administration again, Docked points and hello Whitehaven, fancy seeing you in NL1, We have a Awesome team as it stands now, But this inevitably is going to change. Like i say my only concern is relegation or something happening financially, I am a FAX MAN through and through always will be even if relagated.
JUST FUC*ED OFF AT THE RFL, It is a discrace, they should be ashamed ruining the game.

| Even if we let people in for free on Sunday, I don't think this would get enough people through the gates. Championship Rugby just doesn't cut it for the population of Halifax I'm afraid. If we did get into Super League, attendances would be on a par with Harlequins or Salford.
Also, in hindsight, I bet the directors wished they'd never charged extortionate prices to watch which is in essence, Second Rate Rugby (NL).

You hit the nail on the head mate.Rfl know who they want in Superleague already, and nothing you can do about it.The Rfl wont support quins, crusaders, and two french teams forever, and Salford?Keep winning in the Championship and you will be in Dooper league in 2015.

| IN 2015 when its next due, I will have been supporting and watching fax for six years without promation and relegation, 6 years !!! think how much money i will have spent on season Tickets, Merchandise for me and my lad, Fuel and ticket prices for the away games and my Beers. Could easily be a small fortune, A Holiday to Australia and no Doubt tickets for a NRL game or 2.
GETS ME SO MAD !!!.
on another rant Dual signings is total Bollocks and is just using the Super League clubs to get their Players some Practice, which makes a mockery of the Championship !!
ARGHHHHHH !!!!!!!

| I have lost all faith in the game and the people running it. I have lost interest in watching the game and sadly Fax. This has nothing to do with the people at Fax, who do a great job in most cases.
I do not see why I should spend well over a couple of hundred pounds a year, to see my team play a series of friendlies and never have the chance to have a go at the big time. I have struggled to enjoy the games this past year or so as they are meaningless. The rules are moved to fit what the RFL want. My team and others are not allowed to run an academy now. I feel my team and others are being forced in to being feeder clubs by the RFL. Well sorry I do not want to be a part of that. The game itself is fantastic, but the idiots running it are turning people away from watching it. Watching amateur Rugby is better as there is a meaning to it all and clubs are not held back. Its no wonder our Sport is ignored by the media and is still a minority sport when the RFL just do not care about the fans and ALL the clubs it represents. Thanks Lewis, Wood and all at the RFL for ruining my love for Rugby League. I doubt I am alone.
My fear is that Basically what is happening is that the RFL are weakening our game. A few championship teams will disappear in the future. SL clubs will look after themselves. Some time in the future-maybe 20-30 years Fax will be no more. SL clubs will be crying out for money. Sky will say merge with Union or we will not fund your clubs. Union is also trying to bring in franchises like us. I see no positive future for Professional Rugby League in the UK. The RFL is just a puppet for Sky.

Is that what Wayne Bennett was advising the RFL on when he was last over here? I believe it was mentioned at the time.

| without chance of promotion or relegation, it meaningless
NL1 and 2 should break away and tell the RLF and Sky to stick it up their arm!
If clubs llike Halifax, Widnes, leigh, Barrow, and Fev who all steaped in Rl history have no chance or even the dream of regaining former glories in the top flight, why bother, lets call it a day!
Clubs like, Salford, Cats, Quins, Wakey and Cas, HKR could also find themsleves in a similar situation very soon.
we do have to move on. things do have to to change, however, why are we looking to protect the top few maybe 4-6 cluubs who have nothing to worry about anyhows.
it was interesting that BBC had this deabte after the game on Saturday, on thir forum, its obvously the hot topic at the moment.
If fax r ruled out of things, along with Barrow, widnes, Leigh and Fev, will their fans dwindle, do the clubs have enough to work with to continue at the current standard, will they restucutre to only ever be NL1 sides, will this weaken our game, and see us going from p/T to ameater, will thgis in the end weaken the top flight, as potential breading grounds will dimisnish, one thing for sure this is going to rumble on and on, will it do it with or without some of us as supporters, probably, will a new director of the RLF in a few years bring back Promo and relo, and be hailed as a hero, will it be too late!

| whilst i am on my soap box
is it time for a referendum on Promotion and relegation?
Is it time for a vote of no confidence in the RFL?
How i would love to sit down formally with the powers that be and get them to expalin theor vision and reasoning behind how they are running (ruining) our game!

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| The RFL operate a simple control mechanism over the non SL clubs , they promise every club that they are wanted , this divides the clubs , makes them less likely to ever sit down and discuss the problems
A simple divide and conquer policy
They will after this round of licencing state that they hope to see clubs in the Championship challenging for a place in SL in 2015 , to do this they will have to win a NRC or make a Championship GF , they will then change tack at the last minute , just as they did this time , what I will be very surprised if they do next time is guarantee a place for a Championship side
We are here to stay , the only way that will change is if a club in SL financially implodes at an inoportune time
The clubs need to sit down together and look how they can fund themselves in new ways , but it must be done fairly , all equal , and there we have another problem as some clubs see themselves as ' bigger ' than others
Thing is , it doesn't really matter how big a rat you are in a sinking ship , you'll still drown when it sinks

| I have to come back to my previous point on another post, its jolly difficult to get a lot of the old fans back down, simply because theres no promotion or relegation, imagine the added interest if there was more at stake than a second tier trophy.
Regardless of whether we are ready or not, the criteria are fundamentally wrong, and we mustnt be selfish as Fax fans and think were not ready, so its ok, its just plain wrong wrong wrong.
How dare they try to remove the merit and competitive element from a game, and how dare they try to serupticously invoke a system that would prefer the people of Castleford and Wakefield to lose their individual identity and Rugby Heritage, how dare they.
The only person I have ever heard speak up about this is Phil Clarke, Im ashamed of the players and clubs for not standing up for the integrity of the sport. Were not ready i accept that, apart from why aren't we ready (another story) this is about Rugby League and not Halifax.
