| Here a question for you all to ponder.
Has anybody ever switched allegiance as a sporting fan and how did it feel effect them?
Players and coaches swap many times in a career between teams and clubs, they move on and up or in some cases to a team they fit in with at the later stage of their career or style of play.
In life we switch allegiance between partners and friends, the towns / cities we live in, the cars we drive the pubs we drink in, the hair styles we wear, But changing your team does it happen?
Has anybody changed team when moving house or when moving away, i know some fans who still travel whew moving miles and miles away, but to concisely wake up one day and go, enough’s enough I am changing teams, does it happen?
(PS I am not changing, was debating in the pub last night just though it was an interesting topic and wanted to get some more input!)

| One Ex fan is probably your best person to ask
I could never change from Fax no matter what it just wouldn't seem right. However due to my work I do now have affiliations with other teams but if those teams were to play Fax I would always 100% want a Fax win.

| Good question. I've always been a fev fan - never even "cheated on my team" by supporting any other team - although, occasionally, like when what I consider to be a gorgeous women walks down the road, I sometimes go and have a look at another team - without getting all soppy about them you understand!!
I know people on their 4th marriages and/or umpteen partners, but remain fiercely loyal to their club, regardless of how good they look nowadays or how attractive or inviting it might be to watch another club! Interesting thought this!
Fev til the end!

| Interesting topic, but nothing I have ever had to consider I'm afraid.
Halifax RLFC,
Leeds Utd FC,
Yorkshire CCC.
Other than the national teams ( including RU ) I don't really have an allegiance to other teams, although going to a game such as the GF as a neutral I usually find myself cheering for one or the other.

I am Fax through and through, always have and always will be. Although I live in bradford and do support the bulls, as my superleague team, but I would never go to odsal when I can watch fax, home or away.

| Always been Fax considering Rugby League. Switched a few times with football. Liverpool, Leeds and Huddersfield Town have been a few clubs. But then again, i'm not a huge fan of football. I believe I would just get bored and restless watching another team besides from Fax play.

| If fax didn't exist I would be lost to RL before I supported a different team, I was bitten young and wouldn't be interested in anyone else. My Aussie teams have been Canterbury and Melbourne purely for CA but I'm not really bothered about either of them in the same way that I am Fax.
That said in football, I support Liverpool from my armchair and have done since I was 8, have a passing interest in Coventry City as I lived there for a short time but not as a serious thing. I also have Scottish and Spanish teams based purely on superb (IMO) names but don't actually have any interest in them other than did they win this weekend. I don't support Town because Liverpool are my team but I do occasionally pay to watch them which I rarely have done for Liverpool just because I come from Halifax and I'm just not that interested in football.

| Like Bentleyman, not lived in Halifax (though born and brought up there) for around 40 years but still consider Fax as my one and only RL team and have supported them since around 1958 (as a kid) and will continue to support them 'til the end.
I did occasionally follow Town, but not with any real conviction. Since 1971, if I do have a football side, it has to be my new 'home' team Burnley.
Fax, though, are my only real sporting love.

| If youre a diehard fan i think its pretty much impossible to fully switch allegiences.
I moved out here five years ago and have tried to align myself with an NRL club, but every time i go to a game i keep longing for it to be Fax (yeah, despite all the ups and downs). Parramatta, Manly and the Roosters have all had my fleeting favour from time to time, but in the end its just too hard to bond. I still love the game, but have become a floating supporter.
Atmosphere is very different for a start and despite attendances being much smaller at the Shay, the South Stand (and previously the Scratching Shed) have an electricity i have never found anywhere else. Maybe im just an old fart and stuck in my ways, but its Fax for me any day.
