| This is not a don't tar us all with the same brush post.
The vast majority of us Leigh fans are decent respectable rl fans as are the fans of all clubs, we had our problems at Whitehaven last week and it would appear that you have had some problems at the LSV, I find myself embarassed even though I was not at the game, given that I could probably point out all of the brainless gobsh*tes who would have caused any issues as they are the same scum who we see week in week out, it is my sincere hope that they are banned from ever entering the ground again.
I doubt that his will happen but I sincerely hope that all clubs in this division can come up with some form of policing of games that can erradicate these morons from our sport.

| Every town has idiots, in most towns they watch the soccer though.
The best thing to do is shop these buffoons before their brainless moronic actions make the RFL follow football and start banning beer inside the stadium. Maybe also the RFL will look at segregation where stadiums permit, either way its not good for RL and fans if these things keep happening, its predictable too. It doesn't sound like anything too serious happened though when you consider 2500 people were watching sport and a lot were drinking, put in context the game and event was still a good advert for RL. Perhaps also Fax fans arriving earlier than home fans and taking up position behind the sticks isnt exactly the smartest thing to do. Im afraid to say though that the people that act idiotically at some grounds need shopping by their own club, the wider options that effect all fans such as segragation, alcohol restrictions, extra policing, extra stewarding, CCTV monitoring will all cost money we dont have and damage the experience and RL brand.

What you on about our fans being stood in the wrong part of the stand so its our fans fault??? Rubbish mate. You just stand where you want, we stood to the far left as you look at the pitch which was okay away from the numpties by the sound of it, just got a few silly comments after the game but that happens no problem.
Didn't the Leigh fans stand in 'our' part of the South Stand when we played them???
It aint the 70's and football with your own 'end' its RL.
I don't really like segregation in RL but for some games especially where there are a few hundred away fans it may be better as it prevents any provocation, I only react to utter garbage from opposition fans at times, if they were not there then we would not have a problem, so put them in their own part of the ground but it would be a shame.

| I went yesterday and sat next to a few leighfans were were chatty ,friendly and acknowledged a couple of our better trys. Obviously there is a problem that needs sorting. If the stewards do nothing , what are they there for but it's not just leighs stewards. When we played Leigh at the shay a few weeks ago , two Leigh fans started fighting - the steward infront of the stand just stood there watching , eventually other Leigh fans stepped in and broke up the fisticuffs. Something has to be done. Also a friend bought a bottle of coke at the ground , the seller removed the lid and toldhim no bottle lids were allowed. So it's alright to chant racist ,foul languauge but youcant take a bottle of pop with the lid on. Crazy

I did notice that the bottles of pop that were sold in the stadium had the lids removed, but I brought my own coke into the ground and kept my lid. Surely in these days of health and safety it is easier to spill liquid from an open bottle, then if someone slips on the liquid would the club / stadium be liable??????

To be quite honest, I've always thought we do quite well in keeping out of the way at the Shay as the Leigh fans generally tend to go as far to the right hand side of the South Stand as possible. Still, I know what you mean and people should be free to get as good a view as possible, especially if they arrive early at the ground for purely that reason.

It's to stop people lobbing them on to the pitch - if the liquid empties in mid-air then it's no chance of reaching the pitch. I'd be surprised if it isn't the same ruling at the Shay now that EMC have taken over.

Not sure, as Ive been bringing my own since they took over, however on the way into the ground the missus was asked by a steward if she had any cans in her bag, she replied "no just a bottle) (of Dr Pepper) and was allowed in, so they let you bring bottles with tops in, but not buy them in the ground

After going to Widnes and my mate getting hit on the back of the head by a half full bottle of coke I think this is a good idea to take the tops off.

See, this is probably the opposite effect desired when people complain, as through the whole of last season they were taking the tops of bottles brought in to the ground. These things exist for a reason, though that said I bought a bottle of Sprite in the ground yesterday and the top was left on, probably because I swiped it off the counter before the lad had chance

do you not think that a half full bottle will fly without a top on?
I personally think it is a stupid rule and as I said before if someone is carrying one up the stairs and spills some of the contents (because it doesnt have a top on) then the following person slips on the spillage hurting themselves, who is liable? (where there's a blame there's a claim)

The bottle was thrown about 25 rows so with no top they would not have thrown it as it would have showered their own fans with coke. It could have knocked my mate out. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
The spillage statement is not a good point either when people are carrying beer all round the ground. Far more likely that the beer will get spilt than a bottle which is easier to carry.

| I go watch Football a lot too and I have never heard racists abuse like I did at Leigh yesterday I nearly walked out the ground at the start of the game I was that sickened by it but instead just moved places to the other side of the stand where sadly they was another brainless, racist idiot who told my dad that Rob Worrincy should not be in this country because he is black they is no room for idiots like this in our society never mind at a Rugby League game where my 4 year old god son was at and that was not all when we was heading back to the town 2 Leigh fans over heard a conversation that my 2 mates where having about how bad the racist abuse was and he simply told them "well you know how to resolve this get rid of your black players" and when my mate showed he was upset by this awful comment this Leigh thug punched him in the face we decided to get out the way to avoid I fight then instead of drinking in Leigh town we decided to get the bus back to Manchester and stop off on the way back. A number of us did report things to the steweds but no action seemed to be taken with 1 of my mates being threatened by another Leigh thug who said he would rip his head off for reporting him. If the Leigh Club cant take action against these brainless thugs then action must be taken against the Leigh club.

I prefer to stand behind the posts to watch a game so why shouldn't I ? If I'm there before the home supporters so what, that's my choice, I can stand where I want when I want, there is no segregation.

| i generaly agree with the majority of things that have been mentioned. and to a certain i agree with taking bottle tops off bottles. if that is the rule then no one should bring any bottle into the ground. but yesterday i bought my 8 year old sun a bottle of fruit shoot and the top had to be taken off a blooming fruit shoot. I ask you what are things coming too when you have to take the top off a fruit shoot bottle for an 8 year old?????????????????
