| Simple economics will sort this out.
The market will return to equilibrium. Simple question of supply and demand. If no-one buys the £1.90 oxo drinks and other "expensive" products then either prices will come down or EMC will leave the market to be replaced by someone else who will sell for cheaper. I guess if EMC are still here next year then people are willingly buying the products and Gavin Bootler's statement is incorrect.

Its more compicated than you think littlerich. What they make from the food kiosks on a matchday is only a small portion of the EMC income. EMC's aim is to have income 365 days a year so the 40 or so sporting matchdays when the kiosks are open is of no huge significance.
Councillor Metcalfe was spot on when he said "there was a difference between corporate guests and ordinary fans paying from their own pocket, which was not recognised."

Firms should always aim to maximise profits. 40 days worth of matchday revenue WILL be of significance. If their prices don't bring in the sales, they WILL reduce them. If they do bring in the sales they WON'T reduce them. It IS that simple.

I never said otherwise.

There wont be a boycott so they will always have sales. 1 out of 4 entering the ground may have bought something, that may now be 1 out of 5. They dont care as long as they make money but that is not the argument here. Its about having fair and realistic pricing for supporters.
