| Now i am as shocked as anyone that we lost yesterday but some of the comments on here are laughable.
people calling for Calland to be sacked. now your all entitled to your opinions but am i the only one that thinks he hasnt done a bad job.
yes we lost yesterday but, last season we finished 2nd, got to the grand final, lost in the quarters of the rail to Widnes. and almost beat Cas in the challenge cup.
thats our best season since dropping out of super league, lets just realise that were not unbeatable and we can be beaten by anyone, i think some fans just think we have a right to win every game and that just doesnt happen in sport.
so have your opinions but he really hasnt done that bad of a job.
Calland In

| Aye, I don't believe Calland has to go. He's been great for us. However I do believe he seriously needs to sit down and look at his defensive strategies. We should not be letting in 30+ points against a team like Hunslet, no disrespect to them.
And also like some people have pointed out. Why play Ben Black in a game like that when he's clearly struggerling, and you've got a player like Bowman in great form sitting on the bench.
Just little things IMO he could do with looking at. But overall he's been nothing but good for the club, and anyone calling for his head, well they must not have understood how far we've come in these past few years.
Up the Calland!

| I agree, although yesterday was awful.
I'm not going to put 'Calland in' because I'm hoping we are not going to get into all that yet. It simply brings everyone down when that starts and its very early days in the season.
Calland has done a good job and i don't think we want to be thinking about changing our coach we need the stability. Also how depressing was the back end of last season when all that was spoken about on here was Calland in, Calland out, i think it was bad for the team and bad for us as fans. We need to draw a line under yesterday and move on. From my perspective on yesterdays game there was a number of reasons why we lsot, some i believe were the coaches fault, some weren't.
Firstly resting some of the team- I think this is something most coaches would have done, not out of arrogance but down to the fact that we had only played a couple of days earlier and we SHOULD have enough depth in our squad to to do this.
Players not looknig interested- Whilst i do believe it is upto the coach to drum enthusiasm into a squad its also down to the players to play with pride in the shirt whatever the coach has or hasn't said. Plenty of the team did not do that.
On the Ben Black note- There were plenty of other people that under performed yesterday so I'm not sure why people always pick on him, but if we want to go down that route then fine. Black is most probably injured he went off after 20 minutes and to be fair to him he was the only one that stood up to come back on when Goddard got injured, so give the guy some credit. Anyway that aside I assume he must be playing with an injury to go off after 10 minutes, in which case he should have been rested but not really his fault.

| Would i sack Calland after yesterdys loss? Probably not. Would i have sacked him at the back end of last season? Without a doubt. I feel with a strong BOD he would no longer in charge. If Des Johnson or Ste O`Connor were Chairman would he currently be our coach? I highly doubt it.
Has he done a good job? Well the jury is out on this. We have the highest wage bill in the league(Maybe Barra will overtake us this season) for that reason alone you would be hoping for some silverware in the cupboard. The quality of players he has brought to the club is on the whole superb. Got to say though is it really that hard to coach them players to a good league position, probably not. Have we seen any improvement on issues that have been obvious for a while now? Well the defence dosnt seem to have improved one little bit. If anything its looking worse this season. I mean shipping in 42 points at home to a Champ 1 team is simply a disgrace. The clubs most embarassing defeat since the loss to York in the Trains cup at home a few seasons back. The BOD have to shoulder some of the blame though for choosing for whatever reason not to run any U21 and the like teams which probably contributed to the result yesterday and one of the reasons we wont be eligable to apply for a SL franchise. If we had an U21`s team then at least the players that came in would be match fit and may of even meant that MC didnt feel the need to include them in yesterdays team just to keep players happy.
I get the feeling that the players have gone stale and MC has taken the club as far as he can.

| The pain for you guys will be at the tills, this was a big cash loss especially if you got to Blackpool.
10 Home games is not enough to generate the income to run a club, so the NRC becomes vital as do pre season games.
14 team comp for me next year, 26 games then an end of season comp for all, and stop the stupid fixture lists catering for CC later stages, NRC later stages and the SL weekender/CC final etc.
Start the season later and play home and away Till September.
