| I would have been more suprised if the RFL hadn't changed the rules!
Not like them to treat all clubs below SL like they are worthless is it?

| If this has now been announced, is there any point having them in the league?Prehaps all the teams should not bother making the trip over.

| Once again it just shows what a total embarrassment to the game the RFL are. There are many honest clubs, players and representatives out there but these idiots always seem to find their way into positions of power.

| Well, that's that then.
Not at all surprised - and that says everything about the RFL.
What's the point of this sport any more ???

| Time for a bit of 'Fan' power me thinks...........
1/ All fans from the Championship must boycott the trip to Toulouse.
2/ If possible clubs should play hard ball with Toulouse over their home games with them. IE a few last minute postponed games for any particular number of reasons.
3/ A concerted media campaign to highlight the simple fact the world at large was lied to over the qualifying status needed for Toulouse (see earlier post)
4/ Bring any pressure to bear on any body/organisation connected to the rfl - emails, telephone calls, boycott of main sponsors, pulling strings etc
5/ Noisy protests at home games against Toulouse ALL season long
It may have been obvious to most but this is it guys..............as the song goes 'if you tolerate this then your children will be next'

| True but on face value they didnt exactly shout from the rooftops that they already knew the decision.
Also question why now do they annouce it?
Exactly, if teams lose heart now guess who will take the impetus?
Im sorry but they are slightly guilty by their timing of the annoucement & complicate.
In being serious, the whole season could unravel this month.
Yes, its not the first time the rfl have favoured a particular expansionist club but they allowed the clubs to vote on this given that Toulouse could only qualify with the same conditions IE finish in a Grand final or win Rail cup.
It appears that is not the case now.....
The question is it the rfl had told the clubs voting on this that Toulouse would be favoured in future licensing without the on field criteria would they have voted them in?

| First of all, personally i don't think this affects Fax either way - we're not going to get in for 2012 anyway.
What is disgusting is the doormat treatment given to those clubs outside SL. I am not sure now whether Widnes will get in. I just can't see them chucking two out of SL next time. Salford are gone in my opinion, but who else is for the chop if Widnes & Toulouse get in?
Intriguing.

| There is nothing intriguing here littlerich. Who is in super league is completely irrelevant.
What is relevant is how the executive board in charge of a sport can make decisions to the detriment of an overwhelmingly large number of people involved in the sport. Even worse, that they think they can lie and cheat to get their way and everything will be ok.
This decision means that clubs in the championship have been dangled a carrot, invested big time, both financially and in good, honest people's time, only for the RFL to know it was pointless all the time but still not say anything. Applying for a licence is expensive - imagine what will happen if a club goes out of business due to spending on a licence application they were never going to get?
It is nothing short of a disgrace that this has happened. A competition that has had all the hallmarks of becoming a competition for clubs becoming feeder clubs for super league has been devalued even more. Maybe that was the plan.
Although Toulouse are involved in this as they didnt reveal the truth, the RFL board should now go. We can no longer trust a board that behaves in such a way and a vote of no confidence has to issued. Difficult, i know, as super league clubs are "alright jack" and happy with their lot and cant see a sport outside of SL. I await to see how the championship clubs respond - it has to be a robust response too. I fear us supporters voting with our feet will only be detriment to the good honest people and clubs involved in OUR sport at this level.
Thank you for listening

| A Super League game between two French teams. Doesn't sound right that at all.
Pretty appalling.
