Couldn't be done anyway apparently, as the RFL see a Weekend as "Thursday to Sunday" so you can't play twice in that period,

No chance.

I think it's a bit different to expect us to play Sunday - Thursday - Sunday in a week. compared to asking you whether to play on a friday or saturday following your sunday game. Hardly the same really.

But hadn't 'Fax suggested to play on Sunday 31st (three days after we play away at Fev) and therefore the same situation? With the amount of TV games that both clubs are involved in, coupled with those ghastly Friday night games, a midweek game is going to be quite tricky to fit in.

we agreed to play staurday it was thursday we turned down and they got vexed about, and then decided to mess about meaning it ended up on sunday

i agree though thursday sunday is too much to ask , having said that over easter we play friday monday, but then both teams have normally played not just one

Surely the best time to play this game would be the weekday after the next challenge cup weekend. That way we'll play leigh twice in a week. Could play on the wednesday 3rd and then play the quarter final at ours on Sunday 7th.

It's also good for both sides as Leigh play the thursday before so no sunday game and it's also a bye weekend for fax. So both sides will be rested. Could even play it on the tuesday if they wanted.

At a push, Could play it Monday, though Tuesday would probably be the best time, and give both sides a decent amount of recovery time before the NRC game.

I think monday would be unfair to Leigh, tuesday or wednesday would be better.

To ensure a just and fair decision between both teams, the RFL should sort it out , they could call it the "The Golden Game".

Thought we couldn`t play Saturday as we would have had to share the pitch with 2 sets of football teams. Or am I thinking of another match?

This has proved difficult. Neil Kelly announced in the Leigh press, that the game was on Sunday 31st May, after our Featherstone game had been moved from then, to the previous Thursday. Clearly, that is totally out of order, for Leigh - just as the previous Sunday is totally out of order for you. We seem to have so many blank weekends in June, July and August, (more than you, probably, when you eliminate us from the NR Cup!) that you would have thought one of yours might co-incide?

Failing that, a Wednesday evening, where we have both played the previous Sunday, would seem the best compromise. The RFL, however, don't always do 'fair compromise'!

The further back in the season this gets pushed it could be seen by other clubs that either team could gain an advantage, especially if it's nearing playoff time. It could also end up a dead rubber with nothing to play for.

That was it, the stadium had a prior commitment, what were they to do tell the bride and groom sorry no wedding do as we have a rugby match on???

If they'd gone ahead with the game the happy couple might have got knocked down by the players.

Hence the expression "Wedding Tackle"

HALIFAX are still waiting for a confirmed date for their postponed Championship match at Leigh.
But it will definitely not be played next Sunday, May 24, after the Rugby Football League ruled in Fax's favour.
The visitors, who play their round nine game at Doncaster on Thursday night, had objected to doubling up.
Chief executive Graham Clay confirmed that several players and staff had already booked holidays for that weekend.
Fax have suggested several alternative midweek dates in June and July.

Hopefully, we can get something sorted then - when we are both equally 'disadvantaged'.
