| Former Halifax and Featherstone Half Back Terry Langton passed away this week. It would be a nice gesture to his family if Terry was remembered by either a minutes silence or a minutes applause on Sunday.

| Mine too Rich. Him, Mick Blacker and Sammy Sanderson are my first memories of half backs at Fax! Terry was a Wiley old fox and a great player!
RIP Terry and my condolences to the Langton family.

| R.I.P. Lango.
Top bloke, I got to know him when he was in the Fax team and i was a lad of 17, 18, 19 playing colts & "A" team. In those days all three teams trained together most sessions on Thrum Hall. He cared about the young lads coming through, he'd sometimes go in to assist young lads signing their first contracts & negotiate terms on their behalf with the lads on meeting the B.O.D.
In those days the lads all mixed together and many a thursday night was spent down town after training visiting the Brass cat and then onto the Acca. A proper RL bloke in a great era at a great club we all loved Lango. He used to make sure we visited their Barry's ( his brother & former Bramley scrum half ) pub after games if we were over Leeds way.
I know he ( and Nige Whitehouse ) were still involved at West Bowling until maybe just a couple of seasons ago.
No finer tribute would be to win the cup in his honour tomorrow in my opinion.

| Hell that is sad news. He can't have been that old either.
Terry was one of my favorite players of all time. A tough and skillful little player who gave his all. I still state to this day that we would have beaten the Aussies at Thrum Hall when we were in the old second division if they hadn't knee'd him in the head during a play the ball when we were close to their line. Ref allowed them to keep the ball while Terry was in a mess and they went on to score. Terry was having a cracker up to that point.
R.I.P. Terry and thanks for the great memories

| Sad news - the partnership he had with Blacker and the incredible momentum of that team ignited a lifelong passion for rugby league for me - and I was of the age then when I believed they could beat the world - this seems far too soon - RIP

| Just seen this, very sad, what a player, must have been one the toughest to wear a fax shirt. Remember him outplaying the GB No.7 shirt holders in '82(Ken Kelley and Andy Gregory), should have been the man to play the Aussies, they wouldn't have had a clue against him.
A true Fax legend.

| I'm Greg Langton, Terry's son. On behalf of my mum Ann and my sister Jodie I just want to thank everyone on here for sharing their memories of my Dad's time at Halifax. I'm not sure if the club went ahead with a minutes silence on Sunday but we would liked to have been there if we'd known. We have some great memories of Thrum Hall and I know that my Dad loved it there. The funeral was on Monday and on top of his coffin we placed a picture of him from the early 80's proudly wearing his Halifax shirt.
Rest in peace Dad.

| A minutes silence was impeccably observed on Sunday. Your Dad and his team mates at the time provided my earliest memories of Halifax RLFC. Whenever I think of early eighties Halifax, images of Langton, Blacker and Garrod come to the fore and in that respect, your Dad will never be forgotten by me, nor I suspect by many other Halifax fans.
R.I.P Terry Langton.
