| I have just got back from the match and OMG the referee was a spinless idiot along with the Touch Judge, I was stood in the south stand right infront of the 2nd try which was a double movement you could have seen from anywhere in the stands. Sam Barlows apparent held up try was also grounded.
Regardless of the final seconds of the game, Well done today fax you did yourselves proud. I think next year defensively we will be very strong.
Bring on Swinton!!
The future is bright, the future us blue and white.

| Certainly some strange interpritations of the rules like when a HKR player was tackled and his shoulder was on the touchline and the touch judge didn't give it. But a good blow out by the lads.
Who told Frankie he had a kicking game?

Comedy moment of the match but as it turned out it was a reasonable kick. Maybe because he has a No 7 on his back he thinks he is playing in Blackys role !!!!

| It certainly was not a double movement. Just because his arm was on the floor doesn't mean his momentum had stopped. He was still moving forward and just placed it down. Perfectly within the rules and was a try. I have no complaints with that.
The only odd decisions today were by the touch judge when he didn't bother looking to see if the man had crossed the touch line and then missing the Hull player touching the kick that went out of play.
However it was just a friendly so to be honest I really don't care.

Everybody we know said it was a double movement there was no momentum the ball was grounded before and he thrust his arm forward over the line! Also there was a HKR players legs well in touch during one tackle in the first half which the touch judge didn't flag for, plus Sam grounding the ball over the line then the ref saying he was held up friendly or not Fax deserved to win

I agree Sandie the ref made some really bad calls today which lets face it cost us the game and you must be right as your a ex RFL official yourself. All in all a very good run out today and with no disrespect intended we now have 3 championship 1 clubs in the Northern Rail cup to build us up even more before we play Batley at home although I am sure some people will remind me of Hunslet last season but I am very confident we will avoid that this season. Bring on Swinton.

I listened on the radio and in fairness the two reporters for Radio Humberside agreed that the above should have been given as a try.

The try was double movement as the player had his ball carrying arm touching the floor with a defending player in contact with him.
Quote: billyfax "An instance in which a tackle can be judged to be complete is when the attacking player's ball-carrying arm is touching the ground at the same time that a defending player is in contact with the attacker.'"
Quote: billyfax "Double movement
An illegal movement in the attempt to score a try. An attacking player whose momentum does not allow the ball to reach the try-line or in-goal after their ball-carrying arm touches the ground may not reach out to score if a defender is in contact with them; this is disallowed by interpretation as a "double movement".
However, if the player is in the process of being tackled and the ball has not been grounded before the try line, then they can make a second movement for the score.'"
Both quoted in the rule book at dewsbury.
Quote: billyfax "Second movement
after tackle When an attacking player is tackled within easy reach of the goal line he should be penalised if he makes a second movement to place the ball over the line for a try.'"
Quoted from the RFL website. (and has diagrams)

| watch the highlights in superslow-motion and the player uses his non ball carrying arm for leaver himself forward with the ball after his ball carrying arm is grounded while being in contact with a halifax player.
from my knowlegde of the rules it is a double movement as the tackle is complete.
however as it happend quite fast it was hard for me to spot so its a really hard call and in a competetive game should of been sent to video ref.

| If you are going to quote rules, don't quote just a few of the rules, quote all of the rules. Such asa tackled player’s momentum carries him into the opponents’ in-goal where he grounds the ball even if the ball has first touched the ground in the field of play but provided that when the ball crosses the goal line the player is not in touch or touch in-goal or on or over the dead ball line.'"
As for the ex referee, what makes you opinion more correct than the referee on the pitch. As a referee you would know what a difficult job it is and how hard it is to make a judgement call within an instant.
I still believe it was a try, as it's my opinion based on what I saw live. I said in the ground it was a try and still believe it to be so now.
