In the second half the police had to drag someone off. Does anyone know what happened. It was at the back of the stand

I was just a bit in front of that, I dont know exactly what happened as i was watching in frony but from what i saw the police went to confront someone and then people started shoving the police i think that was all it was, certainly wasn't any kind of brawl.

i was next to everything that happend and the police came up and started to pull people out and when people said why you pulling me out i havent done anything the cops didnt say anything just grabbed them and thats when they pushed back which resulted in cops going all over place

What happened is the police treat eveyone like football hooligans they were a disgrace!! They pushed ans shoved anyone who was in there way!! and one officer decided to take it upon himself by getting me by the throat and shoving me into the wall because i touched him, which was at the same time a try was scored so everyone was knockin into each other!! There supposed to be there to protect u not assault u!!

Our constabulary were a tad over zealous in the East Stand!

A heavy handed approach to a very minor 'incident'!

This may not be true but one of the boys on our coach said they'd had complaints from the people in the boxes at the back because of all the fans standing up interrupting their view and the Police went in to remedy this then Fax scored which resulted in some excitement and caused the constabulary to go nuts.

Saw one of those braindead pillocks in an orange jacket been dragged out by the police as well, someone said they pepper sprayed him

That pretty much sums up what happened, someone tried making the point to them that they had tickets to stand up and refused to sit down. In the build up to Bannisters try there's a wide shot which has the crowd in you can see the police at the top of the stand. Then when we scored there was alot of cheering and jumping around. which resulted in people been dragged out by police, I've got two big bruises on my legs from been pushed over by the police.

They totally over reacted to a situation which was basically fans celebrating a try.

He wasnt arrested. Pepper spray was used in the incident and he caught a blast of it. As is customary when pepper spray is used the police MUST stop the "victim" from rubbing their eyes (as would be the natural response) hence why they would (on the face of it) be seen to be carrying them off!

You mean Sky showed them? They were apparently very quick to cut away from them during the live broadcast so they could prattle on about Terry Newton.

I apologise if you found my comment insensitive but TBH there are plenty of people who have been so desparate that they have taken this course of action and left behind loved ones and young familiy BUT I have little time for the fact that this was an "ex" rugby player and dont think it should have been concentrated on as much as it had been to the detriment of the occassion of the teams taking part.
