Must admit I have a major concern after reading Bally's comments in courier.
If the new coach is Harrison, currently his concern with be to get Batley as far in play offs as possible.Who will be deciding who gets a contract next year, Hall no longer is connected, this surely means that other clubs have a major advantage in signing our better players and as bally said these guys have families and mortgages etc.

im sure this will all be getting looked after by mike riley and steele. do not worry.

we will see many new faces down the shay next year, hopefully young up and coming ones hand picked by our new coach.

if Karl is the new fax coach he will be bringing afew from batley i would think aswell.

worrincy off, brown in would be my call.

We could have a White, Black & Brown playing for us next season then! Wonder if Peter Green wants to sign from Sheffield too?!

What would be the problem in announcing Harrison now if is is the new coach.

At least then players who are undecided about whether to stay or go will maybe stay with Harrison in charge next year.

At least then Bally and Noble would be free to concentrate on getting Fax as far in play offs as possible without distraction

Not sure Karl would want it announcing, I'm sure those who need to know who the coach is will be told in advance of any announcement.

YOU CAN LEARN FROM THE PAST BUT NOT RELIVE IT.YOU CAN HOPE FOR THE FUTURE BUT CAN NEVER BE SURE THERE WILL BE ONE.:

If Karl is the new coach he would hardly want it announcing just yet as we have to play them it would put him in a dificult position to say the least.

I doubt many would leave Halifax unless a SL contract was offered to them. As for Championship clubs we have no idea what the League will be and what clubs can offer as nobody has a clue how many home games etc. As for the various clubs

BARROW are in all sorts of problems and they wont be busting the Cap again and if rumours are true will be shedding players. The average crowd in 2010 was 1717 and now have fallen to 1543 so again not having that much money coming in as previous years may hurt them more than expected. Also players dont want to be trekking up their for training.

LEIGH have money problems and the future is still unclear. They will have lost Ellis and Hill which would free up some cash though. Crowds have improved from last years 2144 to 2397 but even still that has not helped them that much money wise. They may try and go for Penky and think that would be the only place he would leave us for.

FEV Probably spending near the limit and Cockayne wont be cheap. Cant see too many changes happening with the team. Their crowds have dropped from an average 1919 to just 1589 as well meaning a big drop in money coming in. They have already Finn, Kain, Dickins, Grayshon and others for next year

BATLEY & SHEFFIELD maybe could be in the market for new players but there crowd averages are around 1200 mark so not sure that either are spending the full cap

FAX a big drop in gates so far from 2509 to just 2097 but likely a good cup run helped make some money for the club. I would expect some changes with Smith & Larder retiring and hopefully a few released. I do believe Penky will stay with us. He is 30 next year and dont think he will go to SL and doubt he will go elsewhere. I also think the players would rather be at Fax than want to go elsewhere because of the recent history of us getting to a number of finals and we are stable off the field financially. I am not too concerned and know the BOD have done a great job in hard circumstances. I think that will influence people to stay as well.

Spot on that, true as we don't know what clubs will do next year but with the Franchise fiasco I cannot see many having much money to spend other than maybe Fev - who is the guy putting the money in there?
Realistically only Leigh and Fev pose a threat regards being an attraction for players to go to, but would any of our lads ever want to go to Fev??? As for Leigh where would they get the money from???
I think other than a SL club and how many of our lads are good enough to play in SL? Halifax is the best place to be at in our league as we still have something to play for = a tick in the box if we do not get to the GF this year plus we have a good set up with ground, fanbase and new training facikities at the College. imo

No idea, but he posted a tweet a couple weeks back that seemed to indicate he was looking around. And then yesterday he tweeted feeling like he was on the 'cattle market'..

Could be nothing, but still.

The club have a couple of things they need to do:

1. Inform the coaches about what they can expect for next season. As the coaches can't wait until next season to look for jobs if the club know now that they won't be keeping them. It would be unfair to them for all the work they have put in. Especially if rumours are true and Karl is being earmarked for the role. He'll want a lot of his own men in with him.

2. Inform the players of what they can expect for the remainder of this season and expectations for next season as soon as they know it.

At the moment the players and coaches are completely in the dark about what has gone on and what is to happen. From a conversation I had at the weekend the players are hearing different things regarding the exit of the coach and know nothing about the future path of the team. Many of them were close to Calland and this is something the club need to deal with, even if it is to put the players minds at ease.

We'll still be a top team - the one every one wants to beat or play for.

And we'll have a better coach and a great BOD.

Sorted, no worries
