It would, but we'll have to beat both of them (one down, one to go!), as well as beating Wakefield next week to do that. Is that a poke in the eye? Maybe it is, but for me the best thing about today is about "how" we won. I was worried that Leigh would come out all guns blazing at the start of the 2nd half. They did, and along with a couple of mistakes from us and bit of help from the ref, had possession of the ball for pretty much the first 10-15 minutes of the half. Hard to keep that intensity up, but the game might have taken a different slant if Fax hadn't kept their composure and scored the next try. For me, that's the difference that RM has made through to the end of the season - we showed how to close a game out today.

Btw, I had a cheeky couple of quid on Fax to win by 13 points+ today - at 22-1, that's nicely paid for my tickets to the last two games

I think we all know we are not ready for SL as a club YET and I doubt we will win our last two games but you never know with our lads.
The club would welcome the extra money if we do manage to get 7th or even 6th, how good would that be especially 6th is that £787K we would get?
I think we should go for it what an incentive!

Mixed feelings for our players if we did go on and win the next three. Three quarters of them would probably have to look for another club. And while the board would outwardly encourage victories, I'm not sure there's the appetite for SL membership just yet.

Recovery this week will be hard. While Moi Moi will be getting a rub down from Parky Pig, Dane Manning will be up a ladder cleaning windows.

Great season this though. That feeling yesterday at about twenty past four when you realise there wasn't enough time for Leigh to comeback and win was sweet. Massive effort from Fax. Massive effort from determined, honest players.

A couple of points from your post:-

I'd realised there was no chance of a Leigh comeback after about 30 minutes! The only reason we had a 'good' fifteen minutes at the start of the second half, was that your boys + the ref, gave us total possession during that spell. Even then, we looked unlikely to score many. As soon as you got the ball back, it was game over. That's the third really uncomfortable game you have given us, and you probably should have won the one at LSV. Therefore, your victory shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone from Leigh. What was a surprise (and severe disappointment) to me, was the manner of our capitulation - dominated from beginning to end.

And secondly, you wouldn't really expect Fui to go up a ladder, would you? As a serious note there, he only seems capable of putting in one, maybe two, spells of fifteen minutes. And that just doesn't cut it, not when you compare it with the 70/75 minutes that Mitch Cahalane puts in, at a consistently high level of performance.

Anyway, once again, well done on a thoroughly deserved win. You need to be very careful in your next two (three) games, or your squad may get broken up. Still, I can think of a good home for some of them!!

I think you've proven to be a real highlight so far of these middle 8s and full credit to you.

I'm certainly not under estimating you for next week. I think with this result and your result against Widnes we'll know not to take you lightly. Plus our match against Widnes was by a long chalk our worst performance in the qualifiers. I think our team will be a lot more focused and determined to go for a big win. With confidence high in your camp it could be quite a match!
