I know Mike Scott is still with us and I see Ben Beavers around a few times, he doesn't look a day older, so where are the rest and what are they doing? Was fortunate to meet John Pendlebury's brother at the Leigh game, what a gent, but what is John doing???
Incidentally was it 87, or 88 when the commentator made the immortal statement, "he passed to Wilf Ball the George?

I see Wilf ball the George from time to time in Horse and Jockey at Highroad Well, he was referee in a recent tug O' war contest. He ended up in the pub team and pretty much won it on his own.
And I heard a rumour that Grant Rix was living in Australia lol

OK accepting it was the co-commentator who remembers the name of the St Helens centre he was referring to wasn't Elia it was the English one--forgotten his name.

Paul Loughlin was the goal kicking centre that showed Wilf Ball the George on the way to scoring his try.

I could never remember if it was O'Loughlin or just Loughlin, he went on to play at Bradford I think. His poor goal kicking in the final compared to Colin Whitfield made a massive difference too. Whitfield converting Wilf's try from the sideline and Loughlin missing the conversion of his own try was crucial.

Just Loughlin, he ended up at Bradford as part of the Newlove transfer deal.

Was it Newlove or Medley that hardly played for us before going.
