Finally we reach the end of our embarrassing stay at odslum. Let's hope we can repeat last weeks form and go out with a bang. Points difference could be the difference between making the play-offs or not, as if it really matters. Whatever i will go for Fax 48v10 Hunslet.
While obviously glad time at Odsal is nearly over, and having thought initially I wouldn't attend any games there, the experience there has actually been much better than expected, helped by some decent performances. I hope we can maintain the enthusiasm we saw last week against a team which I wouldn't expect to win another game this season. Disappointed that Alfie Johnson not included especially with Sambou out - while hopefully it won't it shouldn't matter against Hunslet don't think we've anyone else who's good enough to play in the centre on a regular basis. Hope he gives Jouffret a go at half.
We've been remarkably lucky with the weather. Lol!
Absolutely dire first half, looked like a team who felt they just needed to turn up to win. Lost count of the number of unforced errors perhaps the worst being Nofaluma s pass to Salty that was dropped when it looked as though Nofaluma could have strolled in himself. Hanson has had some decent games this year, but today had an absolute nightmare- no coincidence that the game changed completely when Whitby came on. Also while I can understand resting players our second row today was the smallest and most ineffective I can remember. We also lacked any real punch at centre with a completely new pairing. Positives - Brandon Douglas absolutely immense and unstoppable for his two tries - Dixon also ran very strongly but only seems able to nanage fairly short stints. Nofaluma while not at the same level as last week still always looked the man most likely to create something and took his 2 tries well. With Saints going well we must have a chance of hanging onto Whitby - while normally in favour of picking our own players first I'd start with him and either Woody or Jouffret- I'd also if available definitely bring in Alfie Johnson on the wing or centre. We should be capable of winning 3 of the last 4 games - equally if we play like the majority of today's game we're more than capable of losing the lot. Then it's down to the ambition of the club - whether we can retain a core of really good players, in particular Nofoaluma and Douglas, or keep the likes of Davies and McComb. One final point - not a bad score forecast Hudd-Shay.
