| The only 2 options for survival imo are total opposites
1. Somehow engineer purchasing the shay. Personally i cant see it happening .
2. Probably the real chance of survival is to get out of theshay and find an alternative home where you could grow with your own earnings from a bar and function area. I can only realistically think of one place and they also play under the name Halifax.

Rochdale - Profit of £25k; net assets of £65k; employees 12
Midlands Hurricanes - Loss of (£188k); net liabilities of (£295k); employees 22

Accounts don't show it, but Midlands are comfortable. And doing the right things to grow & develop.

| A bit off topic but about income streams. She have put most SRL on that stupid streaming where you watch live, can’t record or re watch a full match. It’s just c%#p. Yet the last few weekends the BBC have shown live marches. Are Sky selling their rights to the BBC for how much. There are fewer Australian matches being show as well. In fact none over the last few weeks. The sport is dying

To be fair, of the SL games I've seen recently they are not worth re watching. Standard most be at his lowest. Even Warrington v Saints yesterday, saw last 60 mins and it was dire.

Agree. The Huds v Saints and Salford v Cats were quite boring. My only motive ro watch the SL games on the beeb are to see Saints fail to make the top 6. Cancelled SKY long ago cos it's a rip off.
Will be interesting to see how many attend the meaningless Giants v London game today in the rain.

I've just renewed Sky Sports for 2 years on the basis all the SL games would be shown - I don't watch anything else on there. You can't record 3 games that kick off at once as most are now streamed and all you get on catch up are 10 minute highlight matches that tell you the flippin' score before.
The SL app is the same stream and commentary as Sky, I wish I'd signed up to that instead. With Sky we're just paying for yet more football and now the spandex and helmets brigade.

I agree, I can't see how the running costs could be covered just selling food and drink. The council should offer it to someone like O&C management who have done Westgate and are doing the old Halifax Bank building. A local firm that know the area, have capital and could probably make it pay for itself.

I got rid of Sky completely due to prices and now get it through their NowTv platform linked to my TalkTalk phone and band package and I believe NowTv is available through other providers as well.
Saved a lot but the downside is you can’t record anything so it’s either live or catch up which is a bit sp on replaying rugby league but most if not all are on the Tube within a day or so at least to see the highlights.

| Warrington have now filed their 2023 accounts. They made a loss of £1.6 million, have net liabilities of nearly £3 million and have 131 employees. Another RL club up to its eyeballs in debt and having to be supported by a sugar daddy: "The club continues to require additional funds for the foreseeable future which will be provided by the majority shareholder and directors".
As has been mentioned before, what if SKY either ditch SL or significantly reduce funding? When will these sugar daddies get fed up of pouring millions into a black hole?
Just waiting for London now which is 10 days overdue, then I'll summarise this mess called "Super" League.
