Yep no doubt losing against York was a financial knock but many of the decisions regarding the bulk of the squad including who would be retained, who were going and who would be replacing some of them would be worked on and taken before that based on a top 4 finish and a quarter final play off.
Missing out on the semis would have been hoped for, maybe even expected but any money coming in from that will likely affect the extra player who might not now be coming.
Where adjustments will need to be made for any contenders for the top flight concerns the criteria of the "A" and "B" categories which will involve a lot more than on field performance, in theory you could finish top of the league and go nowhere or finish half way down and meet the criteria and go up.
