Quote: muttley cat "It never fails to surprise me the discussion at the end of a season etc about recruitment for next year and whos worth the bucks.
The most successful teams in Super League era h't aave indeed brought in some quality NRL players which is way out of our budget but they have also used their young player development system . Players who want to play for the blue n white , players who turn up week in week out in our case for free.
Do you think that all the great home grown players of Wigan were superstars before they got their first squad shirt.
A club like fax needs to financially be smart and blood a few kids . How many times do we have to see potential Fax players run out for a Super League club ?
We have a fairly moderate reserve team but a few shining stars as always. Instead of buying blokes at the end of the road it's time to look at the long term.

Good Post and couldn't agree more. It's no secret that the most successful teams over the last 20 years (Saints, Bulls, Wigan, Whinos) have a conveyor belt when it comes to talent but that has been years in the making. We need to avoid the DR BS and ise the club like Fev have done and the benevolent dictator at Leigh.
I think next year, hopefully we get Grady back and Sion Jones. Need a 1/2 props, an established centre (not a second rower masquerading as a centre like Barber), hooker and new half back.
