Muzza is not even the same league as Penky/Gleeson/Beswick .

As a player you're right, but as a leader on and off the field you'll find him hard to beat. What we need is a playmaker to take his place on the field, but make sure that he has a position in the coaching staff going forward as he's (imo) unrivalled in his ability to gel a team. We keep on hearing about the fantastic team spirit that Fax have, and where do you think that comes from?

From a recruitment perspective, we miss someone like Martin Hall. He's an unsung hero from the time that we had Penky, Gleeson, Beswick and others on board. Without him, we'd never have managed to get players of their calibre on board.

It might be worth mentioning that Martin Hall had a 600k budget to play with also. So maybe not so difficult with that much money. No doubt he could spot a player being a superb ex-pro player. For me Muzza has been well worth his money and you are right that we need to find a similar type of player.

murell will be at 6 until he retires/moves to assistant. its pointless even raising the idea of bringing a new 6 in UNLESS its a younger lad that will be placed under his wing.

7 is a different story, that could be a position that changes but honestly, i just cant see it happening. its been a case of 'bring in a new half back' for what, 3 yrs?

but if it did, could we bring someone in of that high a quality that they are straight in to the team and if so, who? i'd love a Gaskell! We'll see what comes in the off season i suppose!

Penny , gleeson and bedswick no wonder we could score try's then. Yes Muzza is a good bloke who has been well worth the money but Father Time waits for no man and it's time for an on field replacement . I worry about him for Sunday .... But then he will probably pop up and prove us all wrong !
