Quote: Greg Florimos Boots "The idea that that if the content on Fax Tv was available for free it would bring in loads of new fans is laughable at best. Our crowds have been quite consistent in comparison to how the team is performing on the field and despite all of this media been available for free up until lately we have shown no increase in attendances.
It leaves the question how do you attract new supporters to a game that even its own fans do not like?'"
GFB, your having a laugh surely? Basic principle, ney fundamentals of advertising! How the hell can you sell your product if you don't let anyone see it or put it out there in the shop window? Ever heard of speculate to accumulate? I'm guessing because the club is skint they are simply trying to cover the costs whilst ticking an online/media box.
We are not in the late 80's now, where there was little live sport on TV, and there's nobody dropping round the pubs of Calderdale with tickets or game cards, we are in an online age, and people will not pay for something if they watch something for free elsewhere.
Our season ticket sales may have been consistent, if not showing a slow decline, but I assure you there are less people paying on the day than for a good few years.
OK I get it, 3.99 isn't a lot, but jeez were talking semi professional sport, were being charged 20 quid on the door, to watch semi professionals. We are competing with multi billion pound sports, there's zero chance of beating or competing with them at this game. FB loops, twitter feeds and a glimpse of what you could watch if you pay 3.99 just wont cut it.
I'm telling you, they've got this one wrong, if were in SL, well have highlights on Sky TV. 3.99 to watch some bloke stumbling through a sports hall interview with Richard, and asking questions like 'Did our smarts let us down?'
We've now got all our eggs in one basket, Richard Marshall, he's a superb coach too, but if he wanders off somewhere, we are well and truly goosed.... fresh coffee?
