| The rent is only part of the story here, what you can do with the ground on match day, and how you can maximise your income streams on match day, these also need considering.
What's the saying about how to become a millionaire, start off as a billionaire and buy a Football Club. Same can be applied to Rugby, 750k just resets the clock buying you some time and paying some bills.
The real work needs to be done negotiating how both clubs can use the ground and maximise their potential and earnings. Perhaps the current rent structure is not ideal.
Life will go on, don't be scared, or worried, these things happen, the council may think its got the best hand and it probably has, it could sell the ground easily, but is that really serving the long term future for the people of the town and the dreams of its children and future sports stars.
It'll be reet, and having read the Worrier, so it is.

| Only thing we can do is wait and see how it turns out, the big decisions will be made soon with possibly smaller details to follow in due course.
At least there is something being said by both parties which for now seem positive and is not just rumour, not counting chickens before they hatch but it's better than what we knew 24 hours ago.

| The Council have done little to the Shay and has allowed atleast 2 Stands to end up basically unusable. Its not even bothered to try and finish the shell between the East and South Stand. Anything it can cut corners on, it has done, including the pitch. The Stadium has a Sponsor now and yet the Council wants more rent for facilities that frankly are poor. What the Council are doing with the Shay was/is the same with the Piece Hall. Rely on Grant money and do a poor job in patching things up and then raise the rent. The BoD could have maybe done things better, but the Council must shoulder a lot of the blame for this fiasco. It seems they care very little about either sporting club and the culture and history of the area in general.
The Club is obviously in a situation where it has next to no money- like most sporting clubs in West Yorkshire. The Club, since the days of Nigel Wood as CEO, has staggered from one poor decision to the next. We are lucky to have a club at all. What is the future of the Club? I have no idea and certainly I feel the club needs to improve in a number of areas. The BoD involves people that put a lot of time, effort and money in to keeping the club where it is. We are not this alleged big club, many think we are. I will be surprised if we make the top 4 again, unless we get somebody who has money to invest. Sadly the club, much like the game is dieing a slow death, with no help from the people at the Top. Its easy to criticize the BoD and the club from here. But I bet they all try and put in 100% and want the best for the club, just like us. I think right now we need to back and support the club in anyway we can. The Club needs us. Its not been easy watching things on and off the field this season. But thats what being a fan is about. Having Moan and groan and putting up with the hard times. Its part of what we are and why we follow Fax, over Leeds, Bradford or Wigan like sadly others do.

| The council,is badly run and the way it manages the Shay is poor, pretty much how it manages most things, Halifa baths, Piece Hall etc. Cutting costs is not a way forward, it leads to bust if you do not at some time spend some money to improve things. Investment in the Shay would have created revenue streams from offices, small retail outlets but no, nothing.
