The club should have let his contract run its course when they can take a more reasoned and considered approach based on three seasons in charge. RM seems a good bloke but he has come up short this season so why reward the individual who under achieved (this season) with a further two year contract. By keeping him to his existing contract it would have least made him`hungry' to make it work next season. He is hardly irreplaceable (yet) so if another club comes for him so what!'"
Couldn't agree more. Despite having most of the lads that took us into the middle eights last year plus a number of additional recruits he failed to deliver. In my view this was due to poor selection decisions, and the inability to pick his best team and stick with it. He messed about with the team for the first half of the season and we have had some of our best players sat on the sidelines for months and that must have been massively demotivating for them and the whole team. For me he has just lacked the leadership skills required to build a winning team.
In my view he has a lot to learn about man management and I wouldn't have rewarded his poor performance this season with a new contract
