Two of my colleagues are from South Yorkshire and football Mad but interested and played RL. One is from Doncaster and the other from Barnsley. Both state they would never go to Sheffield(football supporters mentality)Thay feel that when Sheffield were re-born a few years back they should have dropped the Sheffield tag and tried to embrace all of South Yorkshire. Anyway hope the Eagles get sorted and stay in our league ( dispite losing to Oldham last night ).'"
This is a difficult one, you call yourself South Yorkshire in hope to fish in a bigger pond but then nobody has a real affinity with you, you're not Sheffield or Ritherham or Barnsley etc. But you call yourself Sheffield and everyone else outside of there won't support you. To be fair Sheffield is a big enough pond and there is a rugby presence at amateur level so it's pretty unexplainable why they can't get at least 5 thousand in regularly, even after winning the CC.
