Any team that doesn't take Batley serious this year will struggle. They have put together a pretty well balanced team.

Bit of a shock this one for me. I genuinely thought Leigh would go unbeaten in the normal league. Shows how much I know about rugby ! Batley away is always a toughie for any club-shades of our narrow win last year and a few draws up there recently. Brambani will kick you to death on that pitch and Walker is a great signing-both from Sheffield. kear is a good coach for getting underdog teams up for it. Leigh will be up there at the end of the season but more importantly so will we if we play like we have today.

They've got a big prop, brown was his name I think, best player on the field today. Walker and brambani both very good for them too.

They made fewer mistakes than us and deserved the win. No complaints from me re the result

Good to see a reasoned and mature response. Today for me goes to show that no-one can take anything for granted, Dewsbury just getting over the line at Swinton underlines the point. All of which is good for the game. We have our own big challenge on Friday, look forward to the outpouring of sympathy from Leythers should we be any chance slip up

Rich, good evening I'm fine thanks for the concern,I for one never said we would go the season unbeaten, I just didn't think today ws the day to get beaten.
However I have no problem with the result , the best team WON no doubt,Batley played very well,Leigh on the other hand stuttered throughout the game , but every dog has its day and it will soon be our turn to Bark.
One lose is nothing , you Faxers lost 8 or 9 last season,we will bounce back, I expect my old mate Tezzer Jagger is drinking dry sherry now , listening to Max Bygraves ,singing I'm a Pink Toothbrush

Not how you start but how you finish Ian. You will be up there at the end of the season and a few more decent sides will come away with nothing at Batley. Sheffield away on a February Friday night could well be just as tough a task for Fax as you have had today at Batley!

Intriguing result was expecting Batley tough at home they should have beaten Bradford early doors last season. Leigh will come good I am sure but can't help but be happy with this result Team spirit is priceless!

Although it's nice to see Charlie flapping, one game is all it is. The pressure is off Leigh now, although Derek is on Facebook thanking the Leigh fans at Batley for paying 25% of Batleys salaries. Priceless
