Quote: halifaxjohn "In my very humble opinion sportspersons are no different to any employee.
All this rubbish about loyalty, how many of us, if, offered a higher salary wouldn't have moved.
Sam and Rob left Sheffield Nomads, and look at the abuse they got when ever the taxi came to town.
SAMs moved on and lot of you are now giving him abuse, Rob has gone back to No Mans Land and they now love him.
If a player wants to leave a club to better his income and therefore the security for his family who are we to wave this loyalty tag.
Loyalty is for supporters, (please note Queensbury people) employees should be able to make a decision without recriminations from us.
Incidentally, when Sam returns to Fax as he surely will how will we great him?'"
Hear hear. I have never understood why a sportsman should turn down a better offer of employment. Would any supporter turn down a job where their benefits would increase over loyalty to their employer? Yet supporters hypocritically abuse a player plying his trade in the toughest of games. Earn what you can while you can. Unless of course you want to win some medals with Fax.
