Haven't checked the VT, but I'm surprised more RL fans haven't commented on just how much the new multi billion pound deal for The Premier league could stretch Sky's coffers, and as a consequence effect any future negotiations with SLE over TV rights. They (SLE) may have to get what they are given.
Interesting few years ahead, I'd be inclined to get some scissors ready to cut any cloth accordingly, just in case.
I'm not sure creating a Sky Premier League Channel and charging more will work this one out.
Interesting times ahead though I don't think the SL contract is up for renewal for a couple of years, though I may well be wrong on that, I seem to remember they renegotiated quite early and ignored any other offers. Only time will tell if Nige and the cronies at Red Hall are prepared to stick with Sky come what may, hopefully BT may come in with an alternative which would be interesting.
Good work Sparky
I'm no legal expert but without knowing if theres any clauses, or whether agreeing a contract is the same as being signed sealed and delivered, I shall remain an interested observer
