I don't need to Gavin, you have to have a trading licence which im sure you are aware of. Its just the same as people running around pubs selling DVD`s etc, ,its illegal and you know it. Please don't take me for one of your silly underlings! You will automatically assume that im against FC Halifax and anyone who knows me well will assure you to the contrary. The facts are the facts, FC Halifax have a shop and are not being charged for it.

Que? If I've been on here spouting vitriol why haven't you banned me? I came on here months ago to explain my actions state facts, not spout off. The last few times I've been on here recently have been to challenge a homophobic slur and when HJ has name-checked me. Like I've said before, it's easy to label anyone you disagree with as a hater.

| Quote faxlad66="faxlad66"What you don't see Greg is that FC Halifax actually do have a shop. Its called the "Supporters Bar" and both stadium and council officials see this every week and do nothing. The issue isn't the fact that Halifax RLFC have a shop and its reflected in the rent but more so that FC Halifax do and its not because they trade out of a bar which i believe is illegal.'"
I guess its awkward because saying the finer points to everyone could affect things but it is really needed that people know all the details because Fax do not come off very well in these arguments without people knowing the full facts.

| I think it's an extensively well researched, impeccably well written, unbiased précis of the whole situation with unparalleled use of statistics to drive home its emphasis. Top drawer

I love this Que?
The reason you haven't been banned is because you bring a little comedy into our lives,

| Quote faxlad66="faxlad66"...but not as a shop to sell retail garments which is illegal!'"
I don't want to get involved in this debate but there is nothing in the Licensing Act 2003 that states a landlord/manager of a public house a can not sell 'retail' as you put it, on their premises. I have had a quick read of the Act's sections (195 of them!).
It could be Illegal if the local Authority state it in their Licensing By-Law's. You will have to check with Calderdale C.C. for that.
Anyway if FC Halifax do sell it in the bar and the council are happy with it let them. We have a well run shop that we can visit and buy things when we want. not just match days in the bar.
Bought my Season Ticket today! up the Fax

| Quote Shaymen Down Under="Shaymen Down Under"Your right I live in Elland now, but as a born and bred aussie, i think I'm entitled to my forum name, not that it's any relevance to this conversation.
To be fair, I've nothing against hxrlfc and would still class myself as a fan, who else would have subjected themselves to watching us lose 76-0 in brisbane many moons ago.
I'll be honest my beef and I suspect a lot of fcht fans grievances are with your board of directors. I personally have never liked Michael Steele after the way he talked to halifax football fans as we were returning from an away game. As for mr Abbott.. The foi's speak for themselves and the sort of business he owns and the fines/complaints made against him don't fill me with confidence.
I would guarantee that if you had a different set of directors then the relationship of the club both between fans and at board level would improve
Considerably.'"
So you offer your view on Halifax RLFC Directors but what of your own Directors then?
With Bosomworth in charge he will never have anything to do with anybody who is not connected to FC Halifax Town so how can Halifax RLFC's Board ever work with the football club with that attitude and he sits on his hands when anything comes up about the Shay leaving the rugby club to take the flack.

| Quote Bubba="Bubba"What the sport is has naff all to do with it except that its the Fax Chairman/Board who are trying to make it rugby vs football. And all the evidence is in the FOI responses made by Calderdale Council...none of it is hearsay except what the Fax Chairman says which you seem happy to believe rather than the council evidence.'"
The Fax Board are trying to negotiate for parity with their fellow tenants who happen to be FC Halifax Town they have never had a go at FC Halifax Town its the Council who they are arguing with. The Town position may be changed when as we are told by the Fax Board the old offices are condemned so Town may have to have offices in the East Stand sometime as well. My question is why does the Council charge for a 'shop' which is only open part time (Saturdays for 2 hours and on match days) and has been fitted out and even had the security shutters fitted by Halifax RLFC to justify part of the extra rent Halifax FLFC pay more than FC Halifax Town? How much square footage do each club have in office space? How much square footage do both clubs have in other space like the shop and in Town's case the portacabins? How much does each club put back into the Council coffers for useage of the facilities such as the banqueting suite? Then we get down to how many times each club uses the pitch?
This all gets plain stupid so why not have equality and charge BOTH clubs the bl**dy same makes life so much simpler???
Town fans have done FOIs for one reason and that is to prove Halifax RLFC wrong if possible, if the boot was on the other foot they would NOT have done so.
I am sick of this anti rugby attitude as a fan of both clubs some Town fans seem to live for the day Halifax RLFC are no more, they are obsessed and plain vindictive to a club from the same town, why???

The FCHT board of directors said at the start of this whole sorry saga that they wouldn't make public comments as they would be taking legal advice over the sale. And what flack should the football club have taken? They weren't trying to buy the ground behind your club's back, and were paying the contractually agreed rent, meaning tax payers weren't being forced to make up the deficit in the council coffers.
