For me we have had this problem since Karl came we just don't have the type of players that can either break the line and pass the ball or have wingers who can score length of the field tries when they ever get the ball! The exception being Tommy Saxton although he won't go the length of the field he does take the line on and often get us through but nobody follows him. Workington at times showed us how to play good open rugby they broke the line several times, had players that don't just want to smash into the opposition and actually try to go around them.
Not knowing who is playing for the opposition should be irrelevant if you are good enough and better than them and tbh for long spells yesterday Worky looked better than us - fact not an excuse.
Sorry Karl this I YOUR TEAM and they are not good enough in the backline, our forwards must get well hacked off trying hard and getting no results, we need a centre and a winger that have a turn of pace to get tries like Workington scored yesterday, their second try was terrific and they nearly got another one only for a superb tackle by Heaton I think it was.
