How does the NRC work this year?

The eight Championship One clubs involved will compete in two groups of four with the top team in each group then progressing to join all 14 Championship clubs in the knock-out rounds when the competition intensifies in May, with the chance to secure the first silverware of the season on the weekend of July 20th and 21st looming large on the horizon

Another one of the RFL concepts that got passed me!!

Certainly one of the better ones they've come up with though. Just hope they don't spoil it by having some sort of seedings.

Well, guess what, Matt. They did.

You don't play every team in your group home and away (which wouldn't be a bad idea with just 16 league games). No - you play two home and two away, three against the other teams in your group and one from the other group.

I suppose this at least reduces the chances of playing the same team four times a season......

Sort of defeats the object of having two separate groups really!
