Peter Coyne defintely, ran like a duck. And Danny Stains the same year wasn't much better (i think he went back down under and played Origin as well). Then we had Mick Taylor on the wing that year. He took to Struddies man for man marking so well that he'd never tackle the opposing centre even when they had a 2 on 1.
And i think we've had worse half backs than Lawford - Dane Dorhay, Martyn Moxon.
Going back further - Mick Snee played centre in late 70's early 80's.

I think it's a great thread, think how long it could run.
I mean, didn't we lose to Hewarth, a long time ago.
No John it was Cawoods from Ull. Heworth's in Yarrrrk.
Longstaff reputedly signed at 17 year old for a £50 K contract and was a Javelin thrower who was working under Wilf Paish at the time. Wilf had done some sprint coaching with the 'Fax team around that time.
Longstaff's father Paul was a brilliant loose forward with HullKR & Rochdale as far as I can recall. Lovely bloke too.
