Watching Boots'n'all last night i saw an article, between nodding off, about Warrington having numbers on players shirts relating to when they played for the club. The first captain would have been No1. up to the present day players, a bit like England cricket. A good idea this, and summat Fax might like to do. It would be interesting to know what number the old players were.

Nice idea, wouldn't work without squad numbers and named shirts though.

Perhaps the number could go on the shorts rather than on the shirt like the cricket players of each country have. Normal 1-13 or squad nos (Super Dooper Lge) on the back of shirts then.

Suspect there might be a rather large number of players tho', so whereas cricket is in hundreds & less for some of the newer countries it's more likely to be in thousands for RL.

Would be a massive job to work out, I'm sure we've had nearly 40 players turn out for us in some recent seasons, going back throughout the clubs history that number is going to be HUGE I think the numbers in Cricket for England are only for test players, and don't count player's who have played only in ODIs To get an idea of just how many it could be, Oldham Heritage Trust have these stats on their website www.orl-heritagetrust.org.uk/stats/
