email i received from harry after asking him to do a further piece on the licensing, the guy has gone up in my estimation by not only replying, but also by the sounds of it being honest.
On the other hand who the hell do the rfl think they are banning the media from showing certain things!

Clare Balding was excellent, saying shouldnt it be about what happens on the pitch, not how good your business plan is. Lots of good points raised and you could see Kear, Noble, Woods, Millward were all awkward listening to Lewis.
Lewis also hinted he thinks SL might be better as 12 teams, with the possibility of another French Club if Sponsors and tv deals could be done. Soon we will have more clubs on our side of the fence, Its clear they feel nothing for the areas where the game is strong at an amatuer level, and what was that crap he said about not enough players to go round, i dont buy that, and if that was the case they should be focusing on the lower tiers of the game and not super duper league, prats.
The 3 amigos at Red Hall make me want to vomit, the apathy of SL fans makes very annoyed.

They care nothing about RL, it is all about money.
And how many pies can be bought with it.

Lewis also painted Catalan as an expansion club which it clearly isn't, in that area of France RL has been played at both amateur and pro level for decades.

What this betrays is that the RFL are desperate to protect the idea of expansion, in the wake of Crusaders crash and Harlequins fragility, Lewis used Catalan as an example to try and strengthen the RFLs now weak position.

So despite the lessons in North Wales it looks as though the Lewis/Wood dream of expansion is as strong as ever.
