I can only repeat what I said in another posting that Michael prior to that meeting needs to check whether legal grounds exist for an appeal. Because it is such a bizarre decision you would accept a challenge could be made. It just depends whether the club has the stomach for a serious fight...........

I have said all along if we do not get in then we should challenge - The BOD are not idiots and have good heads for business so I am sure if they had the stomach they would - I know there are plenty of supporters would lend a hand in whatever way they could.

The RFL make a decision and just expect all the clubs to go along with it - remember its not just a sport its a business and no club/business should be held back when there as been a clear injustice.

I would compare it to the Bosman ruling in football - one guy had a vision to change the whole ruling with regards to contracts and its transformed the transfer market in football - if Halifax RLFC challenge this decision I am sure the decision with regards to future licences would be clearer for everyone to follow.

I guess in short waht I am in saying is - Lets have a clear system and a level playing field.

How does a team with a squad value of £300k build a new squad for SL in just four months to be able to avoid relegation without gambling massively against their future?

That's the exact scenario in other sports, and yet sometimes the club coming up does survive.

It is better to have tried and failed then never to be allowed to try.

With thd RFL giving Wakefield a licence, it would appear that they would now likely encourage this behaviour and give it a few marks towards a licence if you go into admin

I would say that the gulf between the divisions in this sport is considerable compared to the Championship and the Premiership for example. Also in some other sports they have parachute payments to protect the dropping club.
